Dr. Isaac B. Horton III has 25 years of experience in technology, patents,
international business and finance. His companies have more than 140
issued patents. The Focus of the technology of Dr. Horton is in three areas:
Energy, Light (Photons), and Matter. The focus of his businesses is
environmental, energy and health care. He has traveled to more than 30
countries and closed transaction in countries such as Japan, Taiwan,
Australia, China, France, Italy, England, Russia, Malaysia, Belgium, and
Brazil. Dr. Horton has raised over $70 million for companies in which he has
significant ownership. His personal destiny is to help save the planet
through the non-profit, The Institute for Environmentally Sustainable
Economies(http://www.gifaese.org/) and fund the gospel through the
non-profit, God’s Tipping Point.
Technology and Business Focus
Light ( Photons)
Dr. Horton is the founder, Chairman and majority shareholder of Remote
Light Inc. Remote Light Inc. is an intellectual property holding company
with a focus on the use of light for illumination; the use of light to disinfect
air, water and other liquids; and the use of light for purification of air and
The Company’s illumination technology has been featured in such places
as Disney’s theme parks in Florida, California, and Japan; The New York
Stock Exchange; Tiffany & Company, nineteen locations including Paris
and Milan; two NFL Super Bowl half time shows; MSNBC Studio; Shanghai
Doom Entertainment Center and many more.
The products reduce energy and maintenance cost by as much as 75%.
The products have won awards including Product of the Year from the
largest entertainment lighting organization, Application of the Year Award
and Innovator of the Year from the International Association of Lighting
Energy and Matter
Dr. Horton invested and became a significant shareholder in Ultra Fine,
Inc.(UTI), a Nano Technology in 1996. The company has been granted
three broad patents that allow it to produce nano materials that can be
processed without vacuum at low temperature. This is in contrast to most
materials that require high vacuum conditions and thousands of degrees
UTI with the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft Institute of Germany, developed a
continuous reactor commercial production process. This is the first
continuous reactor in the world for commercial scale nano material
Solar Cell - UltraFine Technologies, Inc. (UTI) and the Institute
for Energy Conversion (IEC) at the University of Delaware
have produced a CIGS thin film solar cell at one third the cost
of the present thin film technology. The company is nearing
completion on a commercial process to produce these new
Fuel Cell– Using the Ultrafine process, Dr. Horton is co-inventor
and has a significant ownership interest in Nano Membrane
George Forman’s Knockout Cleaning Products
Dr. Horton was vice chairman of The Knockout Group. In that capacity, he
created three patents for new environmentally safe cleaning product.
These cleaning products, endorsed by Good House Keeping are strong
enough to take blood out of cashmere, yet safe enough to drink. EPA has
required no warning label, not even as an eye irritant.
Biomass and Ethanol production
Dr. Horton has developed business models using his technology for
biomass production and ethanol production.
Dr. Horton has been awarded a novel Patent for the removal of viruses
Dr. Horton has been awarded a novel patent for the removal of plague
from the heart using light.
Dr. Horton was recently awarded a patent for a novel business model to
mange construction sites that could significantly reduce labor cost on
construction sites. The patent title is “DIGITAL ARCHITECTURAL PLANS WITH
ELECTRONIC WIRELESS SITE LOCATION AND SMART TOOLS.”
Dr. Horton has been awarded a novel patent on the use of UV Light in
commercial and retail Appliances such as commercial dish washers.
Dr. Horton has been awarded a novel patent on the sterilization of
organic waste streams before treatment with biological organisms.
Dr. Horton has more than 20 additional pending patents and disclosures
on a variety of technological areas.
Education and Corporate Experience
Dr. Horton completed his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1979. After receiving a
Doctorate degree in Chemistry from Indiana University, he began his
career as a Drug Designer for the Dupont Company in 1984 Dr. Horton
was a part of an elite group of scientists that believed drugs could be
designed by understanding the biological activity required. In 1984, no
drugs had been designed in the world. Today all drugs are designed.
Dr. Horton believes that intellectual assets are the key assets of any
company. This includes patents, know-how, systems, information and
people. Dr. Horton or the companies he is affiliated with have received
over a 140 patents. Dr. Horton has received a patent for every
application he has made to the patent office. He has developed both
methods to invent and determine the patentability of ideas. He provides
consulting services for a Wall Street firm in the area of patent validation
Dr. Horton later joined the Rohm and Haas Company where he held a
position in manufacturing and engineering. In the first eight weeks of his
employment, he made a discovery using experimental design.
Experimental design was a novel concept in the eighties. Dr. Horton’s
discovery was used worldwide as an example for the Rohm and Haas
Company. While this technique is widely used in the scientific
community, it has not been used in the general market place. Dr. Horton
has exploited this technique in business and scientific problem solving.
Sales and Marketing
Dr. Horton became Marketing Manager for Europe and Asia for Plaskon,
Inc., Rohm and Haas. This was Rohm and Haas electronic plastic
company for the silicon chip. The business had lost money for eight years
prior to his arrival; Dr. Horton achieved profitability in three quarters.
Dr. Horton joined the strategic planning department to help put together
the ten year plan. Dr. Horton developed a unique approach using
patents. Using patents he could

Supply chain analysis.
Dr. Horton has developed this approach over the years into a strategy
named, “Directed Market Evolution.
New Business Management
Dr. Horton successfully helped develop Rohm and Haas’s new business
development process. Dr. Horton managed the fiber optic business.
Rohm and Haas’s decision to pass on his recommendation for optical
technology in fiber optics precipitated him becoming an entrepreneur.
Rohm and Haas was Dr. Horton’s first customer. Dr. Horton also attended
the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Management Program during this
Dr. Horton has successfully raised money from sources around the world;
including the Quantum Fund/George Soros, Consolidated Edison of New
York, Progress Energy, eight Hedge Funds, The Malaysian Government,
Lucky Gold Star, China Trust of Taiwan and Hong Kong Tobacco. He has
completed a reverse merger for a Public financing, an Equity Financing,
Angel Financing, Convertible Debt Financing and High Yield transactions.
Dr. Horton has traveled extensively and conducted business
internationally. He has formed joint ventures with, the Chairman of
Yamaquiwa, Japan’s largest independent lighting company, the
Malaysian Government, China Trust of Taiwan, Hong Kong Tobacco of
Hong Kong and Lucky Goldstar of Korea.
Dr. Horton has presented to the Prime Ministers and the Cabinet of South
Africa, Ghana, Malaysia and the Bahamas. Dr. Horton has purchased
four companies, including one from Australia and Brussels.
Dr. Horton is a strong advocate for education. He has served on the
Education Committee for the Board of the American Chemical Society
and the Steering Committee for the Urban Education Initiative of the
National Science Foundation. As a National Board Member of the
National Organization of Black Chemist and Chemical Engineers, Dr.
Horton created a mentorship program for intercity youth. He was
featured on the front page of the Philadelphia Enquire for his efforts in
attracting youth to science. He was also featured in award winning
columnist Tony Brown’s book,” Black Lies, White Lies for his work with youth
in Philadelphia. The Rohm and Haas Company awarded Dr. Horton first
runner up for Volunteer of the Year.
University Of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Dr. Horton presently serves on the Board of Visitors for the University of
North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was a member of the first best practice
committee. He chaired one of two subcommittees responsible for
selecting the schools to benchmark and gather information. He is
currently chair of the structure committee. The university has not changed
its structure in 30 years.
Dr. Horton has served on the Board of Directors of Shaw University for eight
years. He is a member of the finance committee and co chair of the
investment committee. (Located in Raleigh, NC, Shaw University is the
oldest historically black college of the south. It is a private, coeducational,
liberal arts university affiliated with the Baptist Church. The University
awards degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels and is
committed to providing educational opportunities for a diverse
population who otherwise might not have the opportunity for education.)
Dr. Horton serves on the Board of Directors of Ravenscroft School.
Founded in 1862, it remains one of the top 10 private schools in the south
east. He serves as a member of the educational stewardship committee.
The Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania
Dr. Horton has served on the Board of Directors of the incubator
sponsored by the Wharton School of business.
Character Education Foundation
He is on the Honorary Board of Directors of The Character Education
Foundation (In 2001, the NC General Assembly legislated that all schools
develop character education programs. In response, the Foundation was
created using positive, good news stories to develop and implement a
one-of-a-kind program to impart the true sense of strong ethics many of
our youngsters are missing today. First successfully tested at Smith Middle
School, in Chapel Hill, NC, the program is slated to expand nationally.)

Business League, Past Board member of Raleigh Chamber of Commerce,
Past Vice President Wilmington Delaware Development Group, Member

Dr. Horton is a follower of Christ. He believes that since God is no respecter
of persons, that God has destined greatness for all of his children. He
accepted Christ at age 12 in Goldsboro, NC. He became a Deacon at
22 at the Second Baptist Church in Bloomington, Indiana. He has the gift
of teaching and administration. He has been a deacon, trustee and
teacher at the Second Baptist church of Wilmington, Delaware, and the
Baptist Church of Jenkins, Pennsylvania. He started a homeless shelter
ministry and prison ministry at White Rock Baptist Church of Durham, North
Carolina. In addition, he was a Sunday school teacher and chairman of
the budget committee. He is presently a member of Life Community
Church in Durham North Carolina.
Dr. Horton is married to his life long friend, the former Thea Bernadine
Bryant of North Carolina. They have enjoyed a friendship for thirty eight
years. They have four children; Isaac IV, Maya, Byron, and Leah.
Dr. Horton loves to garden. He has a rose garden with 38 eight different
species. In addition, he enjoys art and has collected for 25 years. He has
commissioned two series; African American Scientist by the renowned
artist Samuel Byrd and a three dimension depiction of destiny from
Ghana. Dr. Horton enjoys music and has written and published songs. He
also enjoys singing. He and his wife enjoy cooking. His specialty is grilling
Dr. Horton believes that this is the age of Light and Wisdom. The photon
which is a part of light will change the way technology moves. Wisdom is
the age beyond information. And wisdom comes from God. Science
and business is subject to the reality of the Word of God. Truth is the
highest form of reality and the highest form of Dr. Horton’s reality is the
