Call to order at: 7:04 Roll Call Advisor’s Report – Dr. Bricketto I hope the first week of classes were kind to everyone. The Involvement Fair has been pushed back until Thursday because of the rain. The Business Expo in Sykes is still scheduled for Wednesday. Please attend if possible. Public Comment Matt Jochym – Oct 17th: unofficial SGA Washington DC trip on bicycles. BYOBike. Anyone is welcome. During fall break. Meeting around 7AM. Executive Board Reports Trustee – Tracy Pedron – Sept 20th is the next Council of Trustees meeting. Please meet at 4:45 in Sykes so we can all walk over together. Council seats: please meet with your advisors before the meeting. Parliamentarian - Matthew Holliday – Dr. Bricketto took my report. Secretary – William Christman – Binders were handed out and explained. August 29th minutes will be passed next meeting. Treasurer - Susan Malone - Account balances Operating - $27065.75 Auxilary - $22500 Vice President - Tracy Pedron – Sunday (Sept. 10th) is the Senate Retreat. Directions to Goose Creek Park were passed out. Please sign up on sheet President – Kyle J. Mullins – Monday is the 5 year anniversary of Sept 11. Please join us at 6PM on the Quad to listen to Dr. Adler and myself (Kyle) speak followed by a showing of “United 93” at 7PM. Afterwards, there will be a candlelight vigil and time for personal reflection. Please come and bring your friends and family if you can. Senator of the Summer – Chad Gingrich Committee Reports Bylaw Review – Matthew Holliday – New group will be coming in to gain approval 2 weeks from now (Physical Health and Education club). Jane Elliott will be coming to West Chester University tomorrow at 7PM in Asplundh Concert Hall. Technology – Julie France – I sent out and email to those that were interested in joining the Technology Committee, please meet with me after the meeting to talk about a good time to meet. The committee will be tackling myWCU and integration problems and will be surveying how to modify or change what’s going on with the issues at West Chester. Community Service – Kara Jessel – Sign up after meeting if you want to join. If you didn’t receive an email from me and want to join PR, please see. I started a Facebook group for community service, please join it. Volunteer Fair will be held on Wed., Sept 13 – please come to help out. Many agencies will be there with ideas great community service ideas. Philly Care Day – Oct. 21st. More details to come. More ideas? Give them to Kara Wed., Sept 6th – Catholic Newman Student Association: 7:30PM at Newman Center will be making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Any questions, talk to Kristen Gilia. Ad hoc – Chad Gingrich – We are still in the process of brainstorming ideas. There was another attack last week, which was the first on campus. Moved up safety forum to Oct. 3rd. Jeff Simon: The Quad will feature a front page article about the attacks Senator Reports Residence Hall Association – Louisa Correal – Off Campus and Commuter Association – Tina Powell – The first OCCA meeting will be held on Wednesday at noon. At this meeting we will be accepting nominations for Homecoming King and the secretary position. Union Advisory Board – Student Activities Council – Elyssa Sobel – Friday night at 8PM is the Comedy Blitz. The first meeting will be next Tuesday at 3:15 in the Sykes Theater. Inter Greek Council – Matt Tomko - Rush is taking place right now. If any of your friends are interested in joining a fraternity, tell them to get in contact with the fraternity ASAP. Black Student Union – Aisha Watson – BSU meets Wednesdays at 7:15 in the Sykes Theater. Latin American Student Organization – Caryn Mann – Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Alliance – Lauren Forst – The 1st business meeting for LGBTQA will be held on September 11th at 7:15. At this meeting we will be accepting nominations for the treasurer position. Sports Club Council – Bobby Jones – Media Advisory Board – Jeff Simon – We will be meeting some time in the next week. This Thursday will be the last Swingin’ Summer Thursday. The Restaurant Festival will be held on Sept. 17th. The next Borough Council meeting will be on September 20th. The Neighborhood Taskforce has talked about a more formalized street clean-up. West Goshen Township – Cheryl Ardin – Part of West Chester University is in West Goshen Township (all area south of Rosedale Ave.). The next Township meeting will be held on September 13th at 4 PM. Legislative Affairs – Benjamin Brautigam – An email was sent out to the people who signed up to join the Legislative Affairs committee. Appeals – Samantha Traverso – There is a new Code of Conduct available in 238 Sykes. If you are interested in applying for the Judicial Hearing Board, you can find the application online at www.wcupa.edu. Women’s Center – Meghan Moretti – College of Visual and Performing Arts – Amanda Mashack – The Theater Dept will be holding auditions for 4 student written/student directed plays that have been chosen. Each will consist of a 2 to 3 person cast. Details in the E.O. Bull Center. There will be an AIDS benefit later in the semester. Kara Jessel – When is UAB? Matt – UAB meets Thursday in Sykes. They will be electing officers and a representative to the senate. Sarah Huskin – If you didn’t get a senate seat, go to UAB and become their representative to the senate. Dr. Bricketto – Sat.: WC football playing at the University of Delaware. The University of Delaware is ranked 15th in country, but band is always great. University of North Carolina, University of Iowa, Villanova, and West Chester will meet on Saturday and Sunday in a Field Hockey Tournament. Krysta McCaslin – Exercise caution if you go to University of Delaware game. No badmouthing. Lessie Cardinal – There is a new Aramark person who wants to get involved. Kevin Miles – What ever happened to the Ram Statue? Matt Holliday – Not under deliberation right now. There were some conflicts with some faculty members. The SGA representatives will keep in good contact. Mell Josephs has many pictures of the statue if you want to stop by. Matt Tomko – Dates on Diner and Side Caf? Hopefully sometime this week? Dr. Bricketto – Einstein Bagel is open. The problem with the diner is the fire system. The fire company is reviewing it. Hopefully will be open in the next day or two. These delays were not anticipated. Kara Jessel: Einstein Bagel should be open on weekends. Dr. Bricketto: Explore that with student demands. Kyle Mullins – There are not many food options on weekends. Amanda Mashack: I have Info for Philly Fringe Festival and European Musical Theater festival. If interested, email me.
