What is the Silent Auction?
When you arrive, you will see tables set up in the Great Hall. There will be three separate
areas (Area 1, 2, and 3) and each area will "close" at different times (see times
above). EACH item on these tables will have an auction sheet with it (corresponding to
those in this book). It will tell you about the item (who donated it and specifics about the
item), how many people it is for (dinners for example), the minimum bid and the minimum
incremental bid. Carefully review each item that you bid on as there are lots of things that
are similar and we may have some last minute items.

Start the bidding by writing your name and "paddle” number on the sheet for the specific
item. Your "paddle" number is assigned when you check in as you come in the front door
of Heritage. EVERYONE NEEDS A PADDLE NUMBER TO BID, so be sure and see John
Sandman before you place any bids. Keep an eye on the bidding as the evening
proceeds. Others will try to outbid you, so you may have to bid multiple times to keep in
the running! As the evening goes on, the bidding will get pretty hectic. A warning bell will
be rung and the tables ready to close will be announced at least two times before a table
closes so listen for that bell! On the following pages an item marked as “Live” is
designated for the Live Auction. “Silent” will be for items in the Silent Auction. Remember
to have fun visiting with everyone!

General Rules Governing the Auction (just in case!)
 All sales are final. No exchanges/refunds are permitted. Everything is sold "as is". Please read the
offering sheets carefully (especially since some have associated dates) and ask if you have a
       question.
 Incremental bids (amount specified on each auction sheet) must be met in order for bid to be valid.
 All items must be paid for Saturday May 14, 2011. CASH and CHECKS are the only forms we
are able to accept so please plan accordingly.
 By his or her purchase(s), the buyer waives any claims of liability against either Heritage
Universalist Unitarian Church or the donor(s) that may result from the use of property or services
       sold.
 All auctioned goods or services must be used WITHIN ONE YEAR (before May 14, 2011) or they
       will be forfeited.
 Unless specified, dates and times are to be arranged at the mutual convenience of the donor and
       buyer.

                                                                                                              2
 Although we ask the seller to contact the buyer, it is the buyer’s responsibility to contact the seller to
       collect the goods or services.
 The Auction Committee may withdraw any item that does not receive a sufficient minimum bid
and/or present the item at the live auction to raise the bid.
 In the event of a dispute, the Auction Committee will have sole and final discretion to determine the
       winning bidder.

1-MONTH TRISKELION BAKERY PREMIUM WEEKLY DELIVERY Item: 78-Silent
 Triskelion [trih-skel-ee-uhn] Bakery provides a baked-to-order gourmet
sourdough and yeast-bread service. We currently serve Anderson Township,
Ohio, but are working to expand our service area into other Cincinnati
neighborhoods. Triskelion Bakery uses a "just-in-time" baking process. Yeast
bread is fairly straight-forward and can be delivered the day after your
order. However, sourdough bread takes about 36 hours to prepare, and we
strive to provide bread that is at its absolute freshest and baked just for
you. To provide sufficient sourdough preparation and fermentation time,
sourdough orders must be received two days prior to delivery. Any of the
items listed below (except for Rye bread varieties) can be made with either
Sourdough or Yeast. Simply indicate your preference when you order.

SIMON AND PATRICK WOODLAND CEDAR 12-STRING GUITAR Item: 88- EBAY
I bought this guitar for about $600, planning to learn to play it. I've
hardly touched it. I'm having it restrung for the auction since the strings
are old (but not very used.) It comes with a case lovingly lined in
imitation sheepskin by my daughter Maggie, and a great shoulder strap. I
don't think a bid under $200 should be accepted. Simon and Patrick Luthier
is a well-known Canadian manufacturer, especially in 12-String Acoustic
Guitars. I found the following description online for the identical guitar:
Simon & Patrick 12 string guitars are renowned for their ease of play and
richly textured sound. The Woodland 12 Cedar definitely fits this
description, lending itself to the warmer side of the sound spectrum, thanks
to its select pressure tested solid cedar top. Specs Back & Sides : Red Wild
