There is no "I" in "Team" According to the Webster's New World Dictionary teamwork defined as "a joint action by a group of people, in which each person subordinates his or her individual interests and opinions to the unity and efficiency of the group." It means that effective and efficient teamwork goes beyond individual accomplishments. The most effective teamwork is produced when all the individuals involved harmonize their contributions and work towards a common goal. All most all the organization are now looking to the teamwork as they realize that teamwork is important because either the product is sufficiently complex that it requires a team with multiple skills to produce, and/or a better product will result when a team approach is taken. Therefore, it is important that students learn to function in a team environment so that they will have teamwork skill when they enter the workforce. Also, research tells us that students learn best from tasks that involve doing tasks and involve social interactions. Teamwork means cheating. This attitude is in our mind from childhood, most of which is built on a competitive framework. A student wins by being better than everyone else. A student who builds on the work of others has not proven that he is better; instead, he has cheated by not doing everything himself. The result is destructive in many ways. The best solutions are rarely achieved. People are suspicious of each other. These attitudes carry over into the workplace. New problems require new solutions, but old problems require new solutions too. People who do too well are suspect. All too often, the "best" solution to a problem is "my" solution, rather than the one that solves the problem most effectively. Personal aspect of this subject is very much favor to me than that of other subjects. Even though we are already exposure and practicing teamwork we would never believe that to follow this as a subject. In the first day of the class we form a team as we wish. Without having much idea on the team we formed our team on our own preferences. No one would disagree with the selection as all of us know each other from the beginning of this course. At the beginning we did not have any idea about it. We though it is like another set of people who do the given task as usual. As we finish our first task of the class I felt that there are some things in it. As a team we need to have a name: “Scorpions” – this name is proposed by one guy on the team and every body agreed including me. But I thought there would have better name than this. I always wanted have some different name which can represent it by meaning. While others propose their names as “Sevens Star”, “All Black”, “Ahindas” and so on. I though “Seven-Up” would have been better for us as we are seven in number and always want to be up in the class. As a result of the day task I was sacrifice myself to tell my though to other without thinking it as stupid or wise idea. The activity called creation of “&” were given me a very good confidence of thinking over the others. We all agreed to do that individually and later share the best one. I draw it by representing “AND” where all were agreed upon it. Meantime some said it should be bold, it should have a shadow, and so on. It gives best decorated “&” sign with all of ideas. At the end we realized that we had a target and goals to do that. The goals was to create “&” and target was to draw it by representing “AND”. There were lots of conflicts among our teams when it comes to start difficult task. As an example; for the IT-Policy and planning assignment, we had a lot of conflict and arguments in the sense that I felt some guys are not suitable for our team. It was very difficult to get out from their ideas. Some of the people were help to him and some against his ideas. As a concluding point I felt that when the task is easy, team cohesiveness is higher than that of difficult target. After one week observation I could be able to guess how each of the members act and how they are participating to the work. I am very happy that almost all the team members had a good approach towards the target. It has been realized that in order to do the better performance in the team works we need to well prepared and distributed our works among the members accordingly. By doing lot of case studies and assignment it can realize that team formation is not a simple task. It takes much time to buildup. As a conclusion I would say that, at the begging we meet and learn but the outcomes would be always concentrate to one person. The team meets and learns about the opportunity and challenges, and then agrees on goals and begins to tackle the tasks. Team members tend to behave quite independently. They may be motivated but are usually relatively uninformed of the issues and objectives of the team. Team members are usually on their best behavior but very focused on themselves. Mature team members begin to model appropriate behavior even at this early phase. After some time, the team members started to give ideas more often. When there are lots of ideas, lots of conflicts are obvious. Different ideas may compete for ascendancy and it can affect to breaking of the team. This stage we know that we build our relationship well rather breaking. Some time we stuck on the cases where we did not have proper common answers. It took another two three days to solve the problems. We always respect a one guy who’s having lot of experience in his life time as well as academic level. Hypothetically we treat him as a leader of the team. Assignment sharing and works sharing was started by our team members where when there are more than one assignment to submit, we divide those among us. Now we are ready to take any challenge. We know how to quickly do the assignment and cases. We have developed some rules where sharing the works. So, it leads to eliminate the free horse riders as well as it increases the team productivity. As an example when we are going to canteen one of our team member has already be in the quo and ready to buy necessities. We had a money collection for that purpose. It saved our time very much. We are all unique individuals, so our values may be quite different from those held by other people on the team. I think everyone recognizes that people are different, and this is why we have to work harder to create positive team dynamics in a diverse group. Although we agree that people are different, only recently has identifying and valuing those differences become relevant. We know now that each individual usually has something unique that they can contribute to the team environment, and that we must value those individual differences. Team values are the beliefs that are important to all members. Values are rules that can dictate the behavior of individuals. The list of preferences of life expectation were given and asked to fill it individually. Then same repeated as a team and compare the differences. We felt that individual preferences are different from the individual expectation. Any how our preference had a smallest deviation from the standard value obtained from the research. Have you ever tried to wash your house floor alone? If yes, you know that doing those things along is not so easy. It takes lot of efforts and some time leads to unsatisfying results. We cannot play cricket along. It's obvious that it needs to be played in a team. It is also worth to play in a team at work to make it teamwork. Term 'teamwork' is important in education, sometimes social life and in professional life. It can be defined as being on the same side and pulling one aim together, an idea of working together cooperatively. One task and aim is usually divided into smaller ones and each member is trying to do its best to achieve smaller goals that will gather into bigger one. It is said that the most important things in team work are good relations between coworkers and good communication. Those are things that you might change individual. Most of the people might be defined as good team members if they are in good conditions. It is a great strategy for increasing team work effectiveness by organizing special social appointments and trips, all to help their workers get to know better. Putting groups of people together in new, fun or unusual settings, in which they depend on each other's individual strengths to work through challenges and problem-solving can, have powerful consequences. And the better atmosphere in workplace, the more benefits it brings for company. Some organizations offer their employees possibility to participate in team development training. Such trainings are designed to exploit the skills of each individual, ensure effective communication between team members and build recognition of the responsibilities of the individual to the group. Good communication is very important for teamwork. Talking with coworkers, communicating doubts and sharing ideas is essential. Also listening actively, sharing suggestions. If having a problem with one of the colleagues it is very important to talk about that. Letting bad feelings will only make you sour and want to isolate yourself from the group. Not only does it feel good to get it out, but it will be better for the team in the long run. Group members should loyal to each other. The task is divided in smaller pieces and each person is responsible for it. But all in all, the whole group is responsible for one project and if one person faille, the failure might be global. So that's why it is so important to have a good communication with members of the crew, like each other and be willing to help. The responsibility is one. It's also not right if one person constantly blames other members of the team for her failures. You can't blame others that you couldn't meet the deadline. As a part of the team you are becoming almost a part of the family. Some time working in a group is difficult. We all are having different ideas, point of views on the cases. Different ideas of doing some things will increase the possibility to choose the best solution. But to agree a one solution with 10-20 people is not an easy task. That’s why team need a leader to organizes the discussion, solve conflict and show the most important aim. He should be the person with a lot of experiences and respectable. The selection of a leader is belong the team itself. Together, Each, Achieves, More would be fitted with teams. Good teamwork releases group synergy so that the combined effect of individual contributions far exceeds the sum of their individual effects. There is mutual accountability and togetherness amongst members of a wellknit team. The basic premise here is that individual contributions cannot be as good as all of us working together in a team. Everyone knows that there is no "I" in "Team", but working as part of one could be the best thing for your career.
