1. Stretch out the Piriformis

The type of lower back pain that people suffer from tends to vary from person to person. One
reason that people might experience aches in their lower back is because of the sciatic nerve pain
created by the piriformis muscle.
For those who believe this is the reason behind the pain in their lower back can perform the
following exercise.

People should firstly lie down, the knees should then be bent and the right leg should be placed
over the left. A cup should be made around the lower leg using both hands.

Next the right leg should be gently pulled back to the chest using the hands. This stretching
should be alternated using first one leg and then the other while holding the position for about 30
seconds for each side.

2. Sit Up Straight

When seated, people are often frequently changing their position because of the pain in their
lower back. The excessive tightness in their hamstrings can make it hard for people to sit up
straight and the best way to relieve the pain is by stretching the back such that it will not ache
when they sit up straight.

People should begin by lying down on the floor and placing their hands behind their knees. They
should then flex their hips at ninety degree angle while behind their knees. Their toes should be
facing them while they should stretch out by straightening out their knee.

3. Leg Lifts

When it comes to relieving lower back pain, strengthening the TVA or Transversus Abdominis
muscles is an ideal solution since the back will be more effectively supported.

You should start by lying down on your back and putting your feet together. The legs should
then be slowly raised up about six inches off the ground.

You can take a break after holding the position for about 30 seconds and should once again lift
your legs after a few seconds. This exercise will ideally strengthen their abs and their
Transversus Abdominis muscles.

There is no doubt that lower back pain is a problem that a lot of people seem to be struggling
with these days. Luckily exercises for lower back pain relief such as the ones mentioned here
