Telvent Will Supply SCADA Support and Services to Epic Energy Ltd.
Australian gas transportation services provider chooses Telvent to support growing network needs and maintain excellent operations record March 16, 2009 – Telvent (NASDAQ: TLVT), the IT company for a sustainable and secure world, announced it has entered into a multi-year agreement with Epic Energy Ltd., one of Australia’s largest gas transmission companies, to provide maintenance and support for its OASyS DNA supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system. Under the agreement, Telvent will provide onsite personnel support and 24x7 after-hours support of the system for three years. Epic Energy owns and operates four high-pressure gas transmission pipelines across Queensland, Western Australia, and South Australia. This network, including associated lateral lines, measures more than 2400 kilometers in length and is capable of transporting in excess of 200 Petajoules (PJ) of gas per year. Epic Energy has been operating with an OASyS SCADA system to monitor and control this network since the early 1990’s; it upgraded to its current OASyS DNA 7.4 system in 2007. This support will assure Epic Energy the effective infrastructure control and optimum pipeline functionality needed to meet customers’ growing needs for safe and reliable gas transportation services.
