Latest Research
Anti-inflammatory:
This 2009 study showed 1 gm of mastic gum daily reduced the protein that stimulates neutrophils to release cytokines. Cytokines increase inflammation specifically in relation to gastric ulcers in the presence of Heliobacter pylori.

This 2006 study showed mastic oil inhibited vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) which stimulates formation of new blood vessels. This is how tumors grow. It also reduces protein kinases which stimulates inflammation.
