    PROGRAM OVERVIEW
    The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program of st. nicolas College is a ten-
    trimester program designed to produce world-class IT professionals that is not only nationally
    accredited but also globally competitive and who will be professionally competent, morally
    upright, and socially responsible contributors to national development.
    The program is a study of the utilization of computers and computer software to plan, install,
    customize, operate, manage, administer and maintain information technology infrastructure. It
    prepares students to be IT professionals well versed on application, installation, operation,
    development, maintenance and administration of IT hardware and software.
    The curriculum is based on the standards set by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED)
    and is benchmarked from the curricula of leading academic institutions, national and
    international, offering similar IT programs and addresses the needs of the industry.
    The curriculum is embedded with PC Operations NC II and Programming NC IV TVET
    Qualifications.
    PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
    The program leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology has the
    following objectives:
1. To enable students to obtain a comprehensive knowledge and deep understanding of latest
    technology in information and communications.
2. To prepare students to be well versed on application, installation, operation, development,
    maintenance and administration and familiar with hardware installation, operation and
    maintenance.
3. To enable students to acquire the theoretical and practical skills needed to be globally
    competitive computer scientists.
4. To enable students to get a broad liberal education in the arts and letters, social sciences and
    philosophy, natural science and mathematics.
5. To enable students to develop the cultural sensitivity, ethical responsibility, and social
    consciousness needed to become upright citizens of the Philippines and the world.

History
 The idea of putting up an academic center of business and technology came to fore through
the initiative of two individual whose vision of providing specialized training and accessible
employment to student is clear and attainable. These are Mrs. Vilma B. Caluag, an entrepreneur
of worth who sits at the helm of Mel-Vi Group of Companies, the mother corporation of noted
establishment such as the Mother Teresa of Calcutta Medical Center and King’s Royal and
Leisure Park, among other and empower Gregorio M. Sison, Jr., an educator skills have been
inspiring and far-reaching. United by the common goal of achieving global competitiveness and
poverty alleviation, the two visionaries established a learning institution that would address the
current demands of various industries, thereby, mutually benefiting the business sector as well
as the labor force. Thus, the establishment of ST. NICOLAS OF BUSINESS AND TECHNOLOGY in
2004 strategically located at the 2nd and 3rd floors of Mel-Vi Bldg., Olongapo-Gapan Rd., Brgy.
Dolores, City of San Fernando, Pampanga The institution initially offered Hotel and Restaurant
Management (2-yrs.) to 19 enrollees with a faculty and a multi-tasking administrative staff only
numbering to 7. With an unwavering spirit to persevere and through effective internal
marketing, SNC increased its population to 252 in 2005. Consequently, other courses like
Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Bachelor of Science in Computer
Science, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Tourism, 2-yr.
Computer Technician, 2-yr. Computer Programming, Institutional Health Care and Global Call
Center Program were added. In 2006, its commitment to reach more students translated to an
unparalleled student population of 846. School year (SY) 2007 and beyond is an exciting
journey to achieve new heights and experience limitless possibilities. As St. Nicolas College
continues to impart skills competency, effective communication skills and proper attitude, the
world welcome our proud alumni with open arms..
