End of Year Procedures Polk County Fast ForWord Groups for Analysis 6th Grade and 9th Grade Research Other Grade Level Groups Group Cleanup Questions? Set the archive location to somewhere off the C:\ drive, to a removable flash drive or a specified location on your server. Ask your Tech person for an appropriate location. Once the archive is made, you may copy it (in case you want it on additional removable media such as CD-R, flash drive, etc.) NOTE: The final archive will be created at the end of the school year. Creating Groups I. Creating Research Groups: It is important to first create research groups for easy data collection and analysis of students in the research groups. The research groups must contain all 6th grade or 9th grade students that are classified as Level 1 Dysfluent or Level 2 Dysfluent. Follow the procedures below to establish these groups. On the enrollment page, Click NEW under groups Enter new group name Click OK Please use the appropriate name for your school’s research group Middle Schools: 2008-09 6th Grade RESEARCH High Schools: 2008-09 9th Grade RESEARCH Select student from All Participant List (the name will be highlighted in orange) Click ( ) the arrow button; name should appear in the new group When all appropriate students have been moved to the new group, click OK. REMEMBER: These groups contain only those that are in the research study: Level I Dysfluent or Level II Dysfluent Creating Other Groups II. Creating other groups: For the purpose of district research, the following groups must be in place. These groups will contain all other students who have participated in Fast ForWord. It is important for all schools to utilize the same grouping system provided below so that data can be analyzed correctly. Choose the appropriate group name(s) for all other students that were not placed in the research group. You will follow the same procedures as listed above. Polk County Research and Grade Level Groups for Analysis Middle Schools Middle Schools 2008-09 6th grade RESEARCH 2008-09 6th grade OTHER 2008-09 7th grade 2008-09 8th grade 2008-09 9th grade RESEARCH 2008-09 9th grade OTHER 2008-09 10th grade 2008-09 11th grade 2008-09 12th grade High Schools High Schools Group Cleanup Once all NEW groups have been created, follow the steps below to clear students out of the OLD groups. On the enrollment page, Click All Participant List Open an OLD group of students Hold the “shift” key; click the first student, then the last (all students should be highlighted in orange). Click ( ) the arrow button; name should move to all participant list and groups should be empty. Repeat process for all OLD groups then click OK Once all students are removed from the old groups and students are only listed in the newly created groups check “ Show only participants that are not in a group” Hold the “shift” key; click the first student, then the last (all students should be highlighted in orange). Select “Remove Participants” Finally, remove ALL empty groups Any group that does NOT have a “ ” symbol next to the group name, the group should be removed Click the group name Click remove (under the group section)
