                                Session Leader’s Biographies

                     Mrs. Vanessa County, MSW; B.A. Psychology
Mrs. County received Jesus as her personal Savior at age 12, and has been active in several ministries
of the church including; Minister of Praise and Worship, Director of Altar Ministry, Pastoral Staff,
Director of Life Coach Ministry which nurtures new converts as they become integrated into the
church. Vanessa received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dillard Univ. in Psychology, a Master of
Social Work from Southern and a diploma in Christian Ministry. She designed and implemented a
summer program called K.I.D.S Theatre for under privileged children and youth. This program has
been continually funded by The United Way since 1986. Vanessa is also responsible for the
development and implementation of the Lay Health Advocate Program of the McFarland Institute.

                   Dr. Rochelle Head- Dunham, Psychiatrist, FAPA
                   Medical Director – Office for Addictive Disorders
                    Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals
Dr. Head-Dunham completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at Xavier University of
New Orleans. She received her M.D. degree and internship in Psychiatry from Tulane University.
Dr. Head-Dunham completed her psychiatric residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in
Bronx, N.Y. in 1990. In 1991 she became the first to complete a Substance Abuse Fellowship at
Tulane University School of Medicine. She is Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry and Addiction
Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Head-Dunham has served in
clinical/administrative positions for various institutions of medicine and schools of higher
education. She is of the Baptist Faith and currently serves in leadership positions at her church.

Sister Elizabeth Luter – Franklin Avenue Baptist Church women’s ministry leader helping women
to handle life’s everyday problems according to god’s holy word –wife of FABC Senior Pastor, Fred
Luter, Jr.
                   Session: (9:00am – 10:00am) Young Ladies - Ages: 13–18
Sister Patrice Marks, GSW – has been serving the lord since age 13 and a Sunday School
Teacher for 15 yrs. She has been an active member of the FABC Singles Ministry since 2003 and
now leads the ministry. Patrice received her undergraduate degree from Fisk University and graduate
degree in Social Work from Southern University of New Orleans (SUNO). Patrice stated, “My
greatest joy in life is to serve God and to teach people how to live victoriously in Him.”

Pastor Fred “Chip “Luter, III – Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, Pastor of Youth and
Young Adults – To train, instruct and equip youth and young adults in God’s Word for spiritual
growth and maturity, displaying a lifestyle that reflects a relationship with Jesus Christ.
                    Session: (10:00am – 11:00am) Young Men – Ages: 13–18

Minister Miner Rogers – Minister Rogers has been an ordained Elder since 1998 and has
served in ministry for over 15 yrs. He is currently an Associate Minister of Franklin Avenue Baptist
Church where he oversees the More Than Conquerors Ministry. The ministry addresses Drug
addictions. Minister Rogers is “a man of God who has a deep love and strong commitment for
God’s people. “

Pastor Gary Mack, FABC Pastor of Family Life and Mrs. Paulanner Mack –
Marriage Ministry – Sharing the Word of God as it relates to marriage. They have led marriage
conferences and retreats all over the country.

Sister Vera King, APRN,MSN,CNS,NE-BC – Accepted the Lord as her Savior at age 8 and a
member of Franklin Avenue Baptist Church since 2003. She has been active in church ministry
which includes Music Ministry, Nurses Guild, Vacation Bible School Teacher, Welcome Staff,
Speaker’s Ministry, Tape Ministry and Women’s Ministry Staff. Vera has been in the nursing
profession since 1976. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Dillard University
and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi. Her majors include
Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and she is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Behavioral Health. She is
a licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. Vera was recently honored as one of the 2010
Health Career Heroes by the City Business of New Orleans. “It is my desire that the Lord will say of
my work… Job well done.”

Pastor Fred Luter, Jr. - Senior Pastor of Franklin Avenue Baptist church – Has been the pastor
of the Franklin Avenue Baptist Church since 1986 and is a highly respected preacher / teacher
throughout the country. Pastor Luter was the first African American to be elected to the Executive
Board of the Louisiana Baptist Convention in 1992. He was also the first African American to
preach at the Southern Baptist Convention in 2001. “I love preaching and teaching. It’s a passion.
God has given me a gift.”
