Partnership Resolution

							                              Partnership Proposal

         Dana Keener, Jeff Anderson, Frank Carter, Ron Greene, Gordon McKerrow,
                   Barbara Archer, Amy Carter, Liz Hoy, Tom Mensing

WHEREAS, God’s Good News in Jesus Christ unites Christ’s followers in a
single community of faith and compels us to make our unity visible so “that the
world may believe…” (John 17:21, Eph. 4:4-6, I Cor. 12:12-26); and

WHEREAS, the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the United Church of
Christ have joined together in a common partnership since 1985; and

WHEREAS, the United Church of Christ and the Christian Church (Disciples of
Christ) have a common confession in Christ, acknowledge that the baptism
administered by each denomination is a valid sacramental act and mutually
recognize the ordination of ministers from each denomination; and

WHEREAS, the United Church of Christ and the Christian Church (Disciples of
Christ) established a Common Global Ministries Board in 1995 and now partner
in all overseas ministries; and

WHEREAS, the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Montana and the
Montana – Northern Wyoming Conference of the United Church of Christ have
joined together in the ministries of the Montana Association of Churches, in
common leadership events and common ministers’ retreats; and

WHEREAS, the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Montana and the
Montana – Northern Wyoming Conference of the United Church of Christ are
committed to being good stewards of the resources we have for ministry;

THEREFORE WE COVENANT TOGETHER as the Conference Special Meeting
of the Montana – Northern Wyoming Conference of the United Church of Christ
and the Called Regional Assembly of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in
Montana, meeting in Bozeman, Montana on November 6, 2010, to share:
     Executive ministers
     Administrative support staff
     Office space in two locations
     Ministries such as mission and social justice, leader development, pastoral
       support, human resources, vital church development, men’s and women’s
       ministries
     This partnership to take effect beginning January 1, 2011.
