                   INSTALLATION
q Provide at least 6 inches (15 cms) above, 6 inches (15 cms) at both
sides and 6 inches (15 cms) at the back, to ensure air circulation.
Avoid extreme heat and cold by placing your refrigerator away from
direct sunlight and heat sources such as radiators or cooking ranges
and also from direct air drafts, i.e. windows, fans, etc.
q Your refrigerator should be made to stand firm on its legs. If the floor
is not level, use packing to keep your refrigerator balanced and stable.
q Your refrigerator operates on AC 220 V, 50 Hz power supply. A
voltage stabiliser is advisable if there is wide fluctuation in supply
voltage. Connect the plug to a 3 pin, 5 amps socket. Ensure that the
wall socket is properly earthed by having it checked by a qualified
Electrician. It is safe to use a socket with a fuse and a switch.
q Place your refrigerator close to the electrical outlet. Do not use an
extension cord. The wires should be kept off the floor, for if water
drips onto the floor, a short circuit may be caused.
q After installing the refrigerator recycle / reuse the corrugated box
fitments and polythene cover / straps. Do not dispose them off as
garbage. This helps to conserve natural resources and prevents
    pollution.

            A LITTLE EXTRA CARE
q Clean the refrigerator thouroughly with a soft, clean cloth dampened
in plain warm water. Wipe dry.
q Switch on the electric power supply, set the temperature control at the
maximum setting, and let the machine run for about 4 hours.
Thereafter, turn the knob to ‘normal’ or ‘minimum’ setting according
to your requirement and your refrigerator is ready for use.
q Several factors control the temperature in the refrigerator, it’s
position, room temperature, the number of times the door is opened,
relative humidity, the temperature at which the food is stored, etc.
Therefore, adjust the temperature control knob occassionally to allow
        for these factors.
q Do not open the refrigerator more often or for longer periods than is
necessary. This raises the inside temperature unnecessarily. Never place
hot food in the refrigerator, allow it to cool to normal ambient.
q If you are going away for long periods (say more than a week) on a
vacation etc. switch the refrigerator off so that there is no wastage of
power. When the refrigerator is switched off, clean the refrigerator as
        recommended.

    TIPS ABOUT FOOD STORAGE
q All food should be fresh before freezing or refrigeration, as food can
be preserved but cannot be rejuvenated.
q When freezing meats it should be remembered that bigger pieces
keep better. So mincing and cutting into small pieces in advance should
    be avoided.
q All frozen food should be either packed in containers or wrapped in
    polythene or aluminium foil.
q Ice cream should be kept on the floor of the freezer. Ice cream may
still stay soft. Ice cream remains hard at low temperatures in deep
    freezers.
q Milk should be stored in the refrigerator after being boiled and cooled
to an ambient temperature. Milk packets should be kept in the chiller
    zone.
q Vegetables can be kept fresh for a longer period of time if the
moisture content in them is retained. Loosely wrap all vegetables,
especially the leafy ones in polythene bags. The roots of green leafy
vegetables can be cut before storing.
q Fruit and vegetables that have a strong odour should be wrapped
tightly in polythene bags. Ripe fruits should not be placed with
vegetables as they release a gas that turns certain vegetables like
    lettuce brown.
q If fruits and vegetables are washed before storing, they should be
thoroughly drained of all the water. Too much moisture can increase
the possibility of spoilage or decay.

         DEFROSTING AND CLEANING
q Defrosting reduces running time and therefore power consumption. It
cools the refrigerator faster and reduces condensation of moisture on
the internal walls and components. Excess frost acts as an insulator
          and restricts the cooling effect.

q To defrost, just push the thermostat button and the refrigerator will
defrost itself. The refrigerator then switches on again automatically
          once the defrosting process ends.

q Defrosting should be carried out at least once a week. Hot, humid
climates will result in quick frost formation necessitating more
frequent defrosting. The frost formation should not exceed 6 mm
(1/4”). If defrosting is delayed, the water evaporation pan will
evaporate less defrost water and water may come onto the floor.

q It is advisable to clean your refrigerator once a month by first
switching it off and disconnecting the plug from the mains supply.

q Use mild soap solution for wiping the refrigerator gently. Do not let
the water get into the light bulb-holding box and other electrical
          components.

q To clean the exteriors, wipe with a cloth moistened with warm, soapy
water. Wipe dry. Never use solvents, acids, baking soda solution or
abrasive powder to clean the refrigerator. They may damage the
          surface.

q Cockroaches and insects can only creep into your refrigerator through
the door. So remember to shut your door firmly every time and see to
that the gasket is kept in good shape. Also ensure that the
surroundings are kept free from insects and rodents.

           GENERAL INFORMATION
q On opening the door, you may find moistness on the inner surface.
Your finger would get wet on feeling the surface. This is normal
condensation and not a defect. Sweating on the suction line is also
         normal.
q The refrigerator’s front edges may get warm. This is absolutely
         normal.
q In general, keeping the external surfaces of the refrigerator dry is
important. In humid weather, as well as with the kind of environment
in the kitchen that includes the fumes from cooking. The surfaces can
get moist. This can lead to fungus formation. Fungus spots are known
to lead to rusting in the area. These spots become stubborn if wiping is
delayed. If located in the kitchen, the surfaces may also become greasy
in a manner that is not obvious to the eye. However, this can develop
into stains that are stubborn and further encourage growth of fungus
spots. For the above reasons, regular wiping is required to keep the
surface dry. The lower edge front of the cabinet as well as the bottom
surface of the door are important locations requiring regular wiping.
Otherwise, there is the risk of rust formation on the surfaces despite
         the powder coated finish.

         SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
WARNING : When using any appliance, always exercise basic safety
precautions, including the following:
q Use the refrigerator only for its intended purpose as described in this User
    Guide.
q This refrigerator must be properly installed and located in accordance with
the Installation Instruction illustrated in this User Guide, before it is used.
q Never unplug your refrigerator by pulling on the power cord. Always grip
plug firmly and pull straight out from the wall socket after switching off the
    supply.
q Repair or replace immediately all electric service cords that have become
frayed or otherwise damaged. Do not use a cord that shows cracks or
damage by abrasion, rodents or other means along its length or at either the
    plug or refrigerator end.
q Do not splash water on or in the vicinity of the refrigerator. It could cause an
    electrical leak or malfunction.
q Do not allow children to climb, stand or hang on to the door or shelves of the
refrigerator. They could damage the refrigerator and seriously injure
    themselves.
q After your refrigerator is in operation, do not touch the cold surfaces in the
freezer compartment, particularly when hands are damp or wet. Skin may
adhere to these extremely cold surfaces.
q Don’t refreeze frozen foods which have thawed completely. Eating such
refrozen foods could be dangerous. Even partial thawing and refreezing
reduces the eating qualiy of foods, particularly fruits, vegetables and
    prepared foods.
q Unplug your refrigerator before cleaning and making repairs. We strongly
recommend that any servicing be performed by a qualified technician.
q Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapours and liquids in the
vicinity of this or any other appliance. Do not use flammable sprays such as
lacquer and paint near the refrigerator.
q Never store explosives and chemicals inside or near the refrigerator as they
    could explode.
q Do not use any lubricants (lubricating oils, sprays, kerosene, WD-40 etc.)
on the hinges of the refrigerator doors. Some lubricants chemically react
with plastics resulting in damage to doors.
q Perfume bottles, deodarant spray or any evaporating liquid could easily
evaporate and be harmful as lids, caps and valves are not leak proof. Hence
do not store these in a refrigerator. Nail polish remover and thinner are also
    dangerous.
q The ventilation grilles should not be obstructed. Always ensure that there is
good ventilation and that the outward flowing air is able to escape.
q Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage compartment of the
appliance unless they are recommended by Godrej Appliances Ltd.
q Do not damage refrigerant circuit.
q Do no tamper with the electrical circuitry of the refrigerator.
