PROJECT
This is an assignment to test your COMMUNICATION (Criteria C) and KNOWLEDGE
AND UNDERSTANDING (Criteria A) of the Triangle Congruence Theorems for Chapter 4. This assignment is
designed for you to practice your research skills and use your creativity.

Directions:
      Use standard sized unlined paper to create your book.

      Each page of the book should contain one property or theorem. The facing page should include a
picture and a proof that illustrates your theorem.

      Use your textbook or online resources to research each section. Use the last page of your booklet

      Include a cover page with a unique title for your book along with your name and period.

This project is due on Tuesday, November 2nd at the beginning of class.

Criteria A: Knowledge and Understanding
Achievement level     Level descriptor

1–2             The student attempts to create and solve simple problems involving Triangle Congruence.

3–4             The student sometimes finds appropriate solutions when solving simple and more-complex problems involving Triangle
Congruence Theorems and examples.

5–6             The student generally finds appropriate solutions when solving challenging problems in a variety of familiar contexts.

7–8             The student consistently finds appropriate solutions when solving challenging problems in a variety of contexts including
unfamiliar situations.

Criteria C: Communication in Mathematics

Achievement level     Level descriptor

1–2             The student shows basic use of mathematical language and/or forms of mathematical representation. The lines of reasoning
are difficult to follow.

3–4             The student shows sufficient use of mathematical language and forms of mathematical representation. The lines of reasoning
are clear though not always logical or complete.

5–6             The student shows good use of mathematical language and forms of mathematical representation. The lines of reasoning are
concise, logical and complete.
Use the following as a checklist for each of the pages in your book. When you are done, you
should have at least 25 pages that cover the following:

You may type or hand write your project. Part of your project will be assessed for
PRESENTATION, so make sure it is aesthetically pleasing! Be sure to include color on your
pages!
