                                                                ASK LEVELS

 The following “ask levels” or levels of competence are to be used as a gauge of employee’s performance under the plan.
 They are defined as follows:
    0. No awareness, knowledge or understanding.
    1. Awareness- has limited knowledge of task—cannot perform it.
    2. Understand - has knowledge of basis principles and procedures
    3. Perform with supervision – can perform the task but requires close supervision and check of work.
    4. Apply independently – can perform unless special problem are encountered. Only general check of work is
         required.
    5. Proficiency – can perform independently on own; can train others to do the task.

INSTRUCTIONS TO TRAINER:

This training plan will be used for all new and professional employees whether hired initially as students, career interns, or graduates.
The plan will identify and document the employee’s training needs and accomplishments throughout the time the employee is a
trainee. For SCEP or STEP trainees, it is designed to be supplemented each work period (e.g. summer work period) and again upon
graduation and assignment as a professional trainee. The trainee will be expected to achieve the skill level requirements for each item
in the plan prior to reassignment to a production position.

    1. Review the attached items with the employee. Supplement as needed
    2. Identify special assignments and record at the end of the training plan as applicable considering the employee’s needs,
       interest and ability.
    3. Identify the trainer and method (OJT,etc.) for each item.
    4. Identify the skill level requirements for each training item listed.
    5. Give the employee a copy of the plan and keep the employee advised of his/her progress throughout the period.
    6. Record the skill level accomplished for each item as of the end of the training period. Also, record any pertinent remarks about
       training in the notes section.

    SCEP/STEP TRAINEES

    7. Complete the evaluation (provided separately) at the end of the training period and review with the employee. Send to the
       ASTC or other Mgt. Team member, who will forward to the HRM. The employee is required to prepare a report evaluating
       his/her training and accomplishments.


Basic Orientation training should be completed for all permanent employees and within 6 months – 1 year after entrance on duty.
