GOALBALL

Goal Ball / Get Active Now Backpack

Wow!

Perhaps a new sport to you but for many it is a great game. It is a game in which two

teams on opposite ends of a court vigorously roll a ball containing bells at each other

with the intent of sneaking the ball past your opponents into their goal area. This can

be a very high speed and devious game requiring your skills of hearing and team-

work. The players are equalized in ability by being blindfolded. All ages are welcome.

Be prepared for fun. Indoor shoes are required. Elbow and knee pads suggested

Churchill and Volunteer Pool – What’s NEW

For additional information about our programs, services or facilities please call Churchill Pool 577-2538 or

Volunteer Pool 345-5143.

• Admission Standards

As part of our commitment to providing safe and enjoyable aquatic programs for swimmers of all ages, we are

continuing to enforce the admission standards provided to us by the Ministry of Health. To help us maintain

this standard please keep the following in mind when visiting our pools:

1) There must be one supervising caregiver for every 2 children under the age of 6.

2) There must be one supervising caregiver for every 4 non-swimming children aged 6 to 9.

In both cases the supervising caregiver must be able to give immediate assistance. If you have any questions

please feel free to call Volunteer Pool at 345-5143 or Churchill Pool at 577-2538.

• Volunteer Pool Lift

Volunteer Pool is pleased to introduce a portable aquatic lift for the pool deck, making our facility fully acces-

sible.

• Adult Instructional Pass

We are continuing to sell ten week adult memberships for only $65.10 when you enrol at least one child in

swimming lessons. This pass is good for any of the swims offered at Churchill or Volunteer Pool. The

Instructional Family Pass is also available for families that want to practise the skills learned in our swimming

lessons for $42.00. Both passes are an excellent value. Please ask at the front desk for more details.

• March Break – March 15th to 19th – Free Swims

Both Churchill Pool and Volunteer Pool will be hosting free swims the week of March Break from 1:30-3:30

p.m., hosted by Tim Horton’s.

or call Sir Winston Churchill or Volunteer Pool.

Swimming Lessons begin Tuesday, April 6 at Volunteer Pool and Churchill Pool.

There will be no classes on Monday, May 24 for Victoria Day.

Community Aquatics has made some changes to the programming we offer.

SWIM PATROL

The Lifesaving Society’s 3-level Canadian Swim Patrol program provides enriched training for those who

want to develop swim strokes and skills while having fun in the challenging world of lifesaving. Swim

Patrol develops swimming strength and efficiency with emphasis on Water Smart behaviour. Skill drills

enhance capability in the water, good physical conditioning and lifesaving judgment. (These levels are not

offered as private lessons, as many of the lifesaving skills require a partner to complete them.)
