WHAT IS CHRISTIAN RATIONALISM?
Christian Rationalism is a spiritualist philosophy that deals with the spirit evolution and explains
everything within the reasoning and the ratiocination, respecting the way of thinking of every human
being.
Christian Rationalism asserts that the Universe is composed of Force and Matter. It divulges, in
a simple and objective way, the existence of an intelligent principle that irradiates over the entire
Universe. Most people comprehend this intelligent principle as God, whereas Christian Rationalism
designates it as Creative Power, Great Focus or Universal Intelligence, where we are a particle who
contains the same attributes, in a latent shape, to be developed and improved during the uncountable
existences on the Planet Earth.
The Creative Power keeps the Universe ruled by natural and unchangeable laws, that all
human being are subject to, so, Christian Rationalism doesn’t admit probations, predestinations or
miracles. The Christian Rationalist doctrine teaches us that every act of our life arises from the usage
of free will, which is a spiritual faculty controlled by thought, reasoning and will. Thus, what we will
become depends on what we think, what we wish to somebody else, we are wishing to ourselves, and
the good we do will benefit us in the future, in other words: we will become whatever we want to be. It
teaches us, then, not to cultivate feelings of hate, envy or dislike.
Christian Rationalism valorizes the thought, the will, the discipline, the work, and the moral. It
fights any kind of discrimination and doesn’t have party preferences. Christian Rationalism orients,
educates and spiritualizes people so that they become joust, valorous, honorable, simple, veracious
and prepared to, conscious of their responsibilities, be useful to themselves, their family, their nation
and humankind.
Codified in 1910 by Luiz de Mattos, who was one of its founders, Christian Rationalism explains
spiritualist principles that raise souls and fortify weakened bodies. Its principles are simple, but, if
adopted by human beings as behavior patterns, will help everyone to fight all kind of vices and to
break free from bad habits.
In order to know the Christian Rationalist philosophy, it is important to regularly attend our
public meetings and to read the books edited by the Doctrine. Initially, it is recommended to read two
essential books: the first is titled as Christian Rationalism and the second is the Incorporeal Life. The
books edited by the Doctrine can be found in the Christian Rationalist houses or can be read in the
libraries available inside most of them. They can also be downloaded in the Internet, at

The constant attendance to the public meetings conducts people to their inner balance, makes
their spirituality evolve, and brings clairvoyance to the solution of their problems, ever since they
practice the acquired knowledge.
The Chief-House and other Christian Rationalist houses receive attenders individually, after
they attend to three continuous public meetings, when starting to attend them, or later, whenever they
feel it is necessary. In the personal attendance, it is given spiritual advices and doubts about the
Doctrine are removed from everyone including studiers and researchers about a deeper sense of life.
PSYCHIC CLEANSING
Psychic cleansing is a mental hygiene practice, a way to obtain inner balance and spiritual
tranquility. It consists of irradiations, which are spiritual vibrations that drive the Inferior Astral out of
Earth's atmosphere. This removal is carried out by the spirits of the Superior Astral which perform
psychic cleansing by working in tune with the disciplined thoughts of people of good will, either during
mental exercises in Christian Rationalist houses or in co-operation with such people in their homes.
PSYCHIC CLEANSING AT HOME
Christian Rationalism recommends people doing psychic cleansing in their homes. In order to
do that, they need to meet together, daily, at 7 A.M. and 8 P.M. – local times – because, during these
moments, there is an astral chain formed by all the people who are irradiating. If it is not possible to
accomplish these times, a more convenient time should be chosen. Whoever cannot irradiate in
group, may irradiate individually, preferably in an isolated place and during the mentioned times.
When psychic cleansing is done in group, one of the participants says the irradiations aloud
and the others follow them mentally. When a person is alone, the irradiations can be said mentally or
aloud. The important is that, during the irradiations, the participants disconnect themselves from
things, people, and whatever is material, so that they can obtain the most perfect concentration,
allowing the connection to the Superior Astral by similar thoughts.
Psychic cleansing at home consists of irradiations that are done in the following way:
Say the irradiation A addressed to the Superior Astral only once and then repeat the irradiation
B during 5 minutes. After that, say one irradiation B addressed to the Superior Astral and finally one
irradiation B addressed to the Astral President of Christian Rationalism.

derived from the struggle against our bad habits and imperfections that
the spirit reaches enlightenment and greater evolution.
Being aware of our duty to do good and using our free will for that
purpose, we here irradiate to the Superior Spirits so that they envelop
us in their light and fluids, strengthening us to accomplish our duty.

We here irradiate to the Superior Forces so that our spirit becomes
enlightened and we begin to be aware of our errors, in order to avoid them and
to strengthen ourselves to practice the good.
Meaning of the irradiations
The irradiations that Christian Rationalism suggests are composed by simple mental preparation, but if
they are done without properly feeling their meaning, they won’t worth anything.
In order to reach the objective to where the irradiations are addressed, we are pointing out each of their
sentences and its meaning:

These expressions define the irradiations` direction. Superior Astral is composed by evolved spirits whose
action, through Christian Rationalism, benefits the humanity. Great Focus or Creative Power designates the
intelligent principle, immaterial, active and transformer in its universal conception, where all beings are
integrated particles.
We realize that the Universe is ruled by natural and unchangeable laws
that everything is subject to!
It is a categorical affirmation that indicates that whoever is irradiating is enlightened about spirituality, and
supports that there is no chance or unexpected event in the Universe, because all facts have their occurrence
explained as the result of the inexorable application of the law of cause and effect.
We also realize that it is through study, reasoning and growth
derived from the struggle against our bad habits and imperfections
that the spirit reaches enlightenment and greater evolution.
It is another affirmation that indicates that, through the study of Christian Rationalist principles, usage of
reasoning and spiritual growth derived from the daily efforts to eliminate errors and moral defects, the persons
manifest progressive enlightenment and, consequently, their evolution is increased.
Being aware of our duty...
It is a declaration that manifests the sense of responsibility regarding the accomplishment of everyday’s duty.

It is the compromise the persons assume themselves to practice the good, since that, without this purpose, the
doors where the evil thoughts penetrate will not be closed. The spirit, which ratiocinates, achieves the free will
to apply it to do good.

As long as the irradiations aim to establish contact to the Superior Spirits, they are addressed to these evolved
spirits, and it doesn’t matter who are them, because they all have the same objective, which is to help to
promote the evolution of all beings.
…so that they envelop us in their light and fluids,…
Like the iron fillings, which are attracted by the magnet and stay under its magnetic action, the persons who are
united by vibrations of Superior Spirits also stay under the action of their light and fluids.
…strengthening us to accomplish our duty.
The effort of achieving the best possible duty’s accomplishment has to be a constant aspiration that is
reaffirmed in each pronounced irradiation, which has the ability of strengthening the spirit in the struggle for life.

Great Focus! Life of the Universe!
It alerts the persons to the reality of fact that the Creative Power is also life and, as such, penetrates the entire
Universe. Life of the Universe is, therefore, an expression that asserts that the Universe is full of constructive
action proceeding from the Great Focus.
We here irradiate to the Superior Forces so that our spirit become enlightened and we begin to be
aware of our errors, in order to avoid them and to strengthen ourselves to practice the good.
The objective of irradiations is to establish contact with the Superior Forces. It is known that the desired
spiritual enlightenment makes every person become aware of his or her faults, imperfections and errors, which
is the starting point to avoid them to repeat, strengthening him or herself to carry actions and dignifying deeds
forward.
