					Thomas H. Jones

After attending Davidson College, General Jones went to the Naval Academy at Annapolis where he
graduated in 1909. His home town was Norcross, Georgia, where he was born in 1885. Commissioned a
second lieutenant in 1910, he rose to the rank of Brigadier General in 1941. He was retired with this rank
in 1946 and died in retirement in 1947. During his military career he attended the Coast Artillery School
(Advanced Course) at Fort Monroe, Virginia; the Command and General Staff School, Fort Leavenworth;
and the Army War College, Washington, D.C. His military decorations and awards included the
Commendation Ribbon with Metal Pendant, Mexican Border Service Medal, World War I Victory Medal
with Battle Clasps for the St. Mihiel, Meuse Argonne and Defensive Sector Campaigns, the American
Defense Service Medal, the American Campaign Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.
