TAQA has the following vacancy in the Netherlands:


Description
The successful candidate will become a member of TAQA’s Core Infrastructure team
with members residing in multiple TAQA locations (EMEA and North America) and have
a responsibility for the Operational support (networks and systems) of the Global Data
centre.

Roles and Responsibilities

Enterprise VMWARE Vsphere on Netapp FC SAN
   • Provide expert level Operational support for the Enterprise Data Centre
       VMWARE Vsphere and Netapp FC SAN environment
   • Identify improvements to the proactive maintenance and disaster recovery
       procedures
   • Monitor systems incident queue and solve related incidents/ problems in a timely
       manner
   • Maintain up-to-date documentation and diagrams
   • Liaise with Backup engineer to ensure relevant backups are scheduled and
       tested
   • Provide knowledge transfer to team members
Networks
   • Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot the Enterprise Data Centre LAN, firewalls
      (ASA) and VPNs
   • Liaise with 3rd party vendor to troubleshoot Enterprise WAN incidents
   • Monitor network incident queue and solve network incidents in a timely manner
   • Maintain up-to-date documentation, diagrams and inventory of all network
      components
   • Work under direction of the Senior network engineer

Systems and Server hardware
   • Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot Windows 2003/2008 domain (AD, DNS,
      WINS, DHCP)
   • Configure (including clusters), maintain and troubleshoot Windows 2003/2008
      Servers
   • Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot the Corporate Messaging systems (Exchange
      2003/BES Server/McAfee MXlogic mailwall)
   • Perform SQL administration tasks: Backup /Restore /Maintenance Plans/basic
      queries
   • Familiar with HP Server hardware: troubleshoot, replace parts, rack, configure
      ILO and network cards
   • Maintain up-to-date documentation, diagrams, Service Catalog and CMDB

Business Qualifications

Essential
   • Cisco qualifications: CCNA or higher
   • Degree in IT Related Discipline or Technical Diploma from a post secondary
       institution with equivalent working experience

Additionally must have 1 or more of the qualifications below
   • Virtualization qualifications: VMWARE VCP 4 or VCP 5
   • Storage qualifications: NetApp NCDA (Certified Data Management Administrator)
       or higher
   • Microsoft qualifications: MCSE (proven Windows 2008 experience) or MCITP (
       Enterprise or Server administrator on Windows Server 2008

Preferred
   • Citrix qualifications: Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA) or higher
   • ITIL v3 Foundation
Experience, Skills and Knowledge

Overview
A multi-skilled engineer (networks and systems), with 5+ years experience in 3rd level
operational support of Enterprise Data Centers. Strong networking knowledge and
experience is an essential requirement.
Along with networking skills, the engineer should also have knowledge and experience
in 2 of the following 3 areas:
    • Enterprise Virtualization
    • SAN Storage on Netapp
    • Windows system and Server hardware

Details
Networking Skills
   • Working knowledge of Switching: VLAN, STP, MSTP, VTP, Traffic filtering and
      QOS
   • Working knowledge of Catalyst Switches (e.g.6500, 4500) and access level
      switches (e.g. 3750) - stacking, firmware and OS Upgrades
   • Working knowledge of Routing: BGP-V4, IS-IS, OSPF, RIP, HSRP, VRRP,
      Strong IP Addressing with sub-netting, and super-netting skills
   • Working knowledge of Orion SolarWinds (including NETFLOW, IP Address
      Manager, Enterprise Operations Console)
   • Solid understanding of firewall concepts (ports/DMZ), and working knowledge of
      ASA and configuring/troubleshooting IPSec VPNs
   • Network Security: Intrusion detection (Tipping Point IDS/IPS), WebFiltering
      (Websense)
   • Video/Voice: Video (Polycom) and Voice (Cisco) Infrastructure

Enterprise Virtualization
   • Expert knowledge of vSphere VMware 4.1, experience in ESXi (install),
       configuring datastores (Netapp Filer), configuring templates and vmachines
       (Windows, Unix OS), Vcenter Server (DRS/HA clusters), SRM, P2V

SAN Storage on Netapp
  • Expert knowledge of NetApps FAS3170 Filers
  • Expert knowledge of Brocade Switches and SAN technology (Fabric zone
      configs, iSCSI, NFS, FibreChannel)

System and Server hardware skills
   • Working knowledge of Microsoft domains 2003/2008 (AD Users and computers,
      Sites & Services, DHCP,DNS,WINS/SMTP,SNMP)
   • Working knowledge of Windows 2003/2008 servers including clustering
   • Working knowledge of Exchange (2003, 2007 or 2010) and SQL Server (2005 or
      2008)
   • Working knowledge of HP Servers, Racking and ILO configuration

Preferred if also have
   • ICitrix Xen Server farm working knowledge
