      ‫694 עבודות מ"א ודוקטורט שנעשו בשנים 6002-2002.‬                  ‫‪‬‬
‫101 מהם עבודות לתואר שני (%02) ו-593 עבודות לתואר שלישי‬           ‫‪‬‬
                                                         ‫(%08).‬
‫173 מן העבודות (%47) נעשו בארצות הברית, 27 נעשו בישראל‬            ‫‪‬‬
‫(%51) 04 בקנדה (%8) ויתר 31 העבודות המהוות רק %3 מן‬
    ‫העבודות נעשו בהולנד, אנגליה דרום אפריקה פורטו-ריקו ופינלנד.‬
‫העבודות מייצגות 47 אוניברסיטאות שונות ברחבי העולם,‬                    ‫‪‬‬
‫אולם רק 11 אוניברסיטאות אחראיות ל-76 אחוז מסך כל‬
                                              ‫העבודות.‬
‫37 מן העבודות קבלו במאגר ‪ProQuest Digital‬‬                             ‫‪‬‬
‫‪ Dissertations‬את הנושא ‪ 241 ,library science‬עבודות‬
‫קבלו את הנושא ‪ information science‬ו-011 קיבלו את שני‬
                                        ‫הנושאים יחדיו.‬

‫נושאים שתפסו בעבר מקום נרחב במחקר כגון יסודות‬      ‫‪‬‬
‫המקצוע, ארגון מידע, דליית מידע וטכנולוגיה יורדים‬
‫ממרכז הבמה ובמקומם עולים למרכז נושאים חדשים‬
                ‫ובראשם ההיבט החברתי של המידע.‬
‫מהפכת הטכנולוגיה הגדולה הביאה איתה עומס אדיר‬       ‫‪‬‬
‫של מידע ונגישות כמעט ללא הגבלה למידע.‬
‫המשתמש ויכולתו לשחות בים המידע תהיה נושא‬
‫המחקר המרכזי במאה העשרים ואחת. ידע ומידע הם‬
‫כלים מלאי כוח להתקדמות של הפרט והקהילה, ידע‬
                   ‫של שימוש חיובי בהם הוא הכרחי.‬
