Mineral Deposits Limited (MDL) traces its history to Mineral Deposits Syndicate, and was one of the
pioneers of the highly regarded Australian mineral sands industry, recognised in the industry as "the
oldest brand in the business". MDL has more than 60 years of experience in mineral sands dredging
operations on the eastern seaboard of Australia, producing premium zircon and rutile products.
The company was awarded the Sabodala Gold Project which is now fully permitted, with construction
approximately 35% complete as at January 2008. Construction of the water dam and tailings storage
facility has concluded and the accommodation village for over 500 people is largely complete. Critical path
engineering components such as the ball and SAG mills have also been acquired.
At the Grande Côte Zircon Project, construction planning and detailed engineering has predominantly
been completed and long lead time equipment items ordered.
MDL is also engaged in an active regional exploration program with three gold projects located in eastern
Senegal, all within 10-50km of the proposed Sabodala mine site. The objective is to discover additional
resources for the Sabodala mill.

Presentation by Jeffrey W Williams, BSc (Mining Eng) MBA MAusImm AFAIM, Managing Director
Mr Williams has 16 years experience as a professional mining engineer in Australia and seven years in
the stockbroking industry. In the mining industry, his experience ranges from mine planning, underground
management and feasibility study through to mine development.
From 1972 to 1984, he held various positions with CRA Limited at Broken Hill in New South Wales. At
the underground silver/lead/zinc mine, he gained his Mine Manager’s Certificate and practical experience
in mine planning and underground management. Following his Masters of Business Administration (MBA)
programme in 1987, he played a major role as a Senior Project Engineer with North Limited. From 1989
to 1996, he spent seven years in stockbroking specialising in gold mining research. Prior to joining the
company in 1997, he was Head of Resources Research at James Capel Australia.
