Summary of Job:
Deliver the Woodland Trusts income generation, communications and engagement objectives through best practice use of digital technologies, in line with our brand strategy
Manage and lead the Digital Team (4 direct/ 3 indirect reports)
Develop and deliver the Woodland Trusts digital strategy to build digital capacity through
       leadership of organisational change
       education and training of employees
       creating and maintaining excellent processes
       building up key digital competencies
Education/Experience Required:
Previous experience in leading a successful digital team
Proven track record of shaping digital initiatives to drive organisational growth
Evidence of identifying and optimising new opportunities within a digital remit
Been business lead for at least one major digital infrastructure development
Experience of specifying and procuring online business applications and of commissioning and working with specialist digital agencies
Significant experience in running a public facing website of significant size with an emphasis on communication, advocacy and fundraising focusing on
           using search, display, affiliates and email to deliver outstanding customer acquisition and product marketing results
           creating engaging online experiences that create supporter relationships
           using rich media to deliver outstanding communications online
Degree qualified (CIM/IDM) and/or relevant experience with a proven track record of delivering results

Qualities/Skills Required:
Strong understanding of web and e-marketing analytics; usability; visual identity and editorial style
Knowledge and awareness of the technologies required for the successful delivery of digital products and supporting technical infrastructure, including;
       software development platforms
        content management systems,
       online engagement measures
Excellent team management and coaching skills
Analytical and process focussed
Strong management of delivery process involving internal account managers
Capable of leading organisation wide change
Excellent at prioritising competing opportunities, focusing effort where there is the greatest opportunity for return
Capable of bridging the gap between Marketing/Communications and IT professionals
Strongly collaborative working style with ability to influence, negotiate and challenge

Key Duties:
Maintain understanding of the latest digital opportunities and trends in consumer interaction with digital technology and inspire the organisation with those possiblities
Identify opportunities to harness technology to deliver our fundraising, communications and engagement objectives
Partner with internal account managers to build the business case and create robust contracts for delivery
Deliver these commitments through management of the digital team and digital marketing agencies
Create the specification for infrastructure developments and functionality enhancements and contract with IT for their development
Through the digital team, manage the internal network of content authors to ensure that our website and social media presences meet high editorial, usability and effectiveness
Create a leading edge analytical, test and learn culture so that the effectiveness of our website, e-marketing and email programmes are continuously increased
Build understanding of digital opportunities throughout the Trust
Work with peers to create processes that enhance the Trust’s digital capabilities
Ensure compliance with all applicable legal and voluntary standards
Manage digital budgets and budgets allocated by internal clients
