Trust Information
 Barnet & Chase Farm Hospitals NHS Trust is a dual site Trust on the northern outskirts of London. The
 Trust has 954 beds, employs 3,400 staff and has an income of £250m (2006/07).

  The Barnet site has recently undergone a major two-stage building and refurbishment programme while a
  new surgery block opened at Chase Farm in 1997.

  The two hospitals are approximately 6 miles apart and between them service an area including Enfield,
  Barnet, East Harrow, South Hertfordshire, South Essex, Waltham Forest.

  Both sites have dedicated Educational Centres with full audio-visual facilities and videoconferencing on the
  Chase Farm site. These Centres co-ordinate internal teaching for junior doctors and undergraduates, as
  well as supporting a regular programme for GPs, Dental and Department specific lectures and education
  events.
F1 Foundation Training

Barnet & Chase Farm Hospitals NHS Trust supports 48 Foundation Year 1 programmes. All 48 programmes
have been approved by the North London Deanery and are for one year. Each programme is made up of
three 4-month placements. The majority of the programmes include posts at both sites. Posts include
General Medicine (27), General Surgery (16), Urology (2), Paediatrics (2) and Critical Care (1).

All trainees will take part in the Foundation Year 1 training programme directed by Dr Tim Gluck,
Mr Turan Huseyin, Dr Dan Selo-Ojeme and Dr Raj Vignaraja,. This will include formal teaching
sessions, directed and self-directed personal learning, structured appraisal and assessments and
mentoring.

F2 Foundation Training
Barnet & Chase Farm Hospitals NHS Trust supports 42 Foundation Year 2 programmes, all of which have
been approved by the North London Deanery and are for one year. Each programme is made up of three 4-
month placements. The majority of the programmes include posts at both sites. Posts include General
Medicine (10), General Surgery (2), Urology (3) Paediatrics (1), General Practice (7), Accident & Emergency
Services (14) Orthopaedics (2) and Obstetrics and Gynaecology (3).

All trainees will take part in the Foundation Year 2 training programme directed by Dr Tim Gluck, Mr Turan
Huseyin, Dr Dan Selo-Ojeme and Dr Raj Vignaraja. This will include formal teaching sessions, directed
and self-directed personal learning, structured appraisal and assessments. The Generic Skills Programme
will be provided via a 2 day intensive Masterclass course with a full day follow up Review session 6 months
later.
