					According to Brunke and Boriss (2006), Canada and Mexico were responsible for
most U.S. carrot imports in 2004 (Canada made up 60% of imports, and Mexico
made up 15%). The article also says that northeastern states imported more
Canadian carrots than other areas of the U.S. This makes sense given that the
northeast is farthest from the major domestic producers in California.
