					Dear Partners and Colleagues,

We are very glad to welcome students from your University for the Fall Semester or Full Academic
Year 2008/2009 at the Politecnico di Torino.

PROCEDURE AND DEADLINES FOR THE ACCEPTANCE OF INCOMING STUDENTS

¦ Students who plan to study at the Politecnico di Torino within the framework of an exchange
programme (Lifelong Learning Programme/Erasmus, Bilateral Agreements, SMILE, MERIT,
students in frame of the Double Degree Agreements with European universities...).

University partners should contact the Mobility Unit - Incoming giving the list of students nominated to
come to the Politecnico di Torino. In order to avoid problems, please do not apply for acceptance
directly to the Politecnico Academic Advisor.

New incoming students are kindly requested to apply for the Fall Semester or Academic Year
2008/2009 through the “Student Exchange Electronic Application Form” by JUNE 30th, 2008:

All incoming students are strongly invited to a Welcome Orientation Meeting organised by Mobility
Unit - Incoming. There is a Welcome Orientation Meeting timetabled on September 8th, 2008 for
students that will attend the Italian Language Course and another for exchange students arriving
during the I term and will NOT attend Italian Language Course the on September 15th, 2008.
Students are required to plan their stay in Turin until the exam session are over.

LEARNING ITALIAN
Please, note that it is essential that International students learn some Italian before reaching
Turin, otherwise they will not be able to understand lectures and to integrate socially while living in
Italy.
Applicants may wish in addition to take further Italian language training at Politecnico immediately prior
to their studies. CLA (Language Centre) at Politecnico di Torino offers all International students
intensive Italian language courses free of charge.

FINAL PROJECT
Students enrolled at home university in 4° or 5° year who wish to prepare their final project
(thesis) are more than welcome. Please, note that the work load is 5-6 months long, therefore it is
advisable to spend this period at the Politecnico di Torino. Students are invited to suggest a selection
of topics they are interested in when they fill the Student Exchange Application Form. More topics they
will propose and more chances to come to the Politecnico di Torino they will have!!!
We would like to invite students to be a little flexible in case the final project they intend to prepare
does not match the purpose of project they have planned. It is very important that they cooperate with
the academic advisors and accept their suggestions.
The Italian University system does not provide a mark for the final project, nor is there a final exam,
the Italian Supervisor will only send an informal work evaluation of the project to the partner-university
by e-mail.
Unfortunately, the Politecnico di Torino is not able to assist undergraduate students in carrying out
their final projects.

Please note that our Institution does not offer work experiences and trainings to incoming
students.
We cannot accept students whose field of study is not stipulated in the Bilateral Agreement.

Students who intend to arrive for the Spring Semester of the Academic Year 2008/09, will be able to
apply on line from October onwards. Deadlines for Spring Semester 2008/09 entry: DECEMBER 3rd,
2008.

2008/2009 academic year in the frame of the Double Degree Agreements with non European
universities or to obtain a degree (Bachelor/Master of Science/PhD) at the Politecnico di
Torino.

New incoming students are kindly requested to apply for the Academic Year 2008/2009 by MAY 10th,
2008:
