Barack Obama was born in
Hawaii, on August 4th 1961.
His Father also named Barack
Obama, was a student at
college in Kogelo in Western
Kenya, Africa.
His mother named Stanley
Dunham, was from the fort
Leavenworth, in Kansas. After
graduating high school in 1979,
he attended Occidental
College in Los Angeles, in
California.
Family
Obama’s parents got
divorced in 1964, and his
mother and Grandparents
raised him. In 1967
Obama’s mother married
another man named Lolo
Soetoro, and Lolo moved his
new family to Indonesia.
Maya Soetoro, Obama’s half
sister, was born on August
15, 1970. Now he has two
daughter’s, 12 year old
Sasha and 9 year old Malia.
He also has a wife named
Michelle.
Accomplishments
Barack Obama is
famous because he
is the first African
American president.
He had a close
competition with
John McCain, a
republican who was
also running for
president.
