As the United States entered the 1950’s we had a new President (Eisenhower), and
a new policy on how to deal with the Soviet Union (the “New Look” Foreign Policy).
Cold War tensions continued and began to spread into areas other
than Europe and Asia. The Middle East and Latin America
became Cold War hotspots during the 1950’s.
