                                 Intern

                               SOFTWARE ENGINEER INTERN
                                    Job Description

The Software Engineer Intern is an individual who is responsible for new software development
and ongoing maintenance of Orion Healthcare Technology’s applications. This position is
designed to provide qualified students the opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on work
experience in web application development. The Software Engineer Intern reports directly to the
Director of Software Development and will contribute to the enhancement of Orion’s software
products via participation in the software development lifecycle as well as other tasks as deemed
fit. General responsibilities include software design, programming, and other duties as assigned.

Specific Duties Include (but are not limited to):

 Identifying requirements and creating design specifications for proposed programs and
  program enhancements
 Developing, testing, and implementing code based on requirements and specifications
 Creating and executing test cases for both new and existing code modules

Professional Qualifications:

  Currently enrolled as a Junior/Senior in computer science or related field
  Working knowledge of the design and development of web applications including ASP,
   VBScript, JavaScript, HTML, XML, and CSS.
  Working knowledge of object-oriented programming
  Strong analytical skills
  Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  Able to work independently and come up with creative solutions to problems

Helpful but not required:

    Familiarity with Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS)
    Familiarity with source code control tools such as Microsoft Visual SourceSafe
    Knowledge of SQL (Microsoft SQL Server) and relational database design
    Experience with Microsoft Access
