Vancouver, BC, Canada, February 08, 2012 -- This event is a unique

opportunity for business leaders to engage with top designers, market

leading companies, and investors who know how to profit by design.

Creative Led Innovation is now a key driver for business success: by

convening design and business leaders in a series of interactive

workshops and stimulating presentations, Profit by Design will help

participants connect with the business models, thinking and leaders that

will drive innovation in your company. Join some of the best designers,

business minds and investment gurus and discover how to profit by design.



Day 1, Friday, Feb 24, is a full day conference that includes a track for

ground breaking start-ups who will deliver the stories behind their

creative led innovation. Additionally the most established innovation

icons in the nation, such as Bombardier Recreational Products, Lululemon

Athletica, and Research in Motion Blackberry will go behind-the-scene to

demonstrate the magic of their international competitiveness. Panels will

articulate the interplay that brings together strategy, engineering,

scientific research, investment, and market intelligence



Day 2, Saturday, Feb 25, focuses on in-depth investigations of

principles, strategies and how-to methods with small scale workshops. A

luncheon address is scheduled with Canada's national business guru, W.

Brett Wilson. One of the more specialized workshop opportunities will be

a by-application round table workshop with Industry Canada, all major

Canadian design associations and many business and industry sector

associations to discuss a National Design Policy and attendant strategies

of governance and incentives around creative innovation. Contact

In conjunction with the conference, a national industrial design

recognition exhibition, featuring the work of 2011 graduates from

Canada's schools of design, will be exhibited in the Concourse Gallery of

Emily Carr University of Art + Design, with an opening reception,

Thursday, February 23, from 5:00 & 7:00 pm.

Profit By Design is targeted to the innovation, business and investment

community: Principals, CEO's, Product Managers, Marketers, VCs, Angels,

Professionals, Educators - any person or team that is involved in Product

Development, Product Management, Research and Development, Dynamic and

Profit By Design is presented by the Association of Canadian Industrial

Designers [ACID]and co-sponsored by Emily Carr University of Art +

Design, Industry Canada and major professional design associations in

Canada. Originally established in 1948, ACID is the not-for-profit

national organization of professional Canadian industrial designers with

mandate to promote the advancement of industrial design in Canada. Emily

Carr University of Art and Design is British Columbia's senior

institution for art and design founded in 1925.
