BOX 449 SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA 92702-0449 (714) 647-7042 SANDRA HUTCHENS April 6, 2011 SHERIFF-CORONER PRESS ADVISORY LUNCHEON HONORS COURAGE, MERIT AND LIFESAVING Date: April 7, 2011 Time: Press Availability with medal recipients 10:30-11:15 a.m.; Luncheon and presentation of awards 11:30 a.m. Where: International Ballroom Hyatt Regency Irvine 17900 Jamboree Road, Irvine, CA 92614 The Sheriff’s Advisory Council will sponsor the 23rd Annual Medal of Valor Luncheon to honor outstanding deeds by members of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. Those attending will include a 61 year old man whose life was saved by two Deputies who found him just after his leg had been severed in a motorcycle accident. Others are being honored for saving lives, attempting to save lives and for working criminal cases that had a major impact on the county they serve. Seventeen individuals will be awarded medals. One posthumous medal will be awarded and one individual will receive a special plaque. These nominees and selectees have been recognized for their actions and efforts and all Sheriff’s Department employees are represented by these honored few. Sheriff Sandra Hutchens will present awards and plaques to 27 individuals for acts of courage, merit and lifesaving.
