TORNADO DESTROYED ARDMORE ADVENTIST ACADEMY –
The unseasonable EF4 tornado that ripped through Lone Grove,
Oklahoma last week also tore through Ardmore where it destroyed 24
homes and the Ardmore Adventist Academy. The roof is gone and only
parts of the front and back walls are still standing. The pecan grove
owned by the school was also wiped out. Incredibly no vehicles or people
were at the school at the time, so no one was injured or killed. Efforts to
get to the school were hampered due to downed power lines and large
trees. Adventist community Services is setting up a 16-foot trailer next to
the school with supplies to serve the community.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE for Anita Hawley who passed away on
February 2nd will be held tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m. at the Monarch
Hotel in Clackamas. (off of I205 and Sunnyside Rd) Anita was well
known in Adventist communities in California, Oregon and Washington
as Aunt Bunny for the wonderful children stories she told faithfully every
Sabbath for 25 years. The adults enjoyed her stories just as much as the
children. Pet stores would donate animals and creatures for her to use for
stories. Our condolences go to her husband Don. If you wish to send him
a card you can sent it to 8330 Cason Rd Apt #225, Gladstone, OR 97027.

SEMINAR COMING TO HOOD VIEW! “How to Die Right…and
Live to Tell About it! You’ve heard the lines: Give your all to Jesus; Just
surrender; Die to self; Let go and let God, etc. So often these seem like
platitudes – sometimes they even frustrate and madden us. This seminar
takes these statements out of the world of clichés and puts them into
practical reality. Clarence and Dianna Schilt have discovered some
simple tools that have transformed their lives. They will share these tools,
as well as Biblical principles, involved in “trading places” so that we daily
experience Christ’s power and love instead of the limitations of self-
centered living. The Seminar starts Sabbath March 7th during our worship
service. After an all church potluck there will be a 2:00 p.m. meeting and
conclude Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. A brunch will be served at 9:00
a.m. Sunday morning. Bring your favorite brunch foods.
WALTER ARTIES IN CONCERT. March 14, 6:00 p.m. at the
Sunnyside Church. Expressing in his own inimitable style the love of
Jesus. Walter Arties combines rare musical artistry with a spiritual
sensitivity seldom encountered. He has toured the United States, Europe,
and the former Soviet Union. For ten years he was Director/Arranger for
the “Walter Arties Chorale.” He has appeared in crusades with Dr. Billy
Graham and his associate, Dr. Ralph Bell. At the invitation of the “Billy
Graham Association,” he has toured Sweden, Finland, India, and the
West Indies. His CD Hymns Collection won a Religion in Media Award.

Ladd. Hood View is fortunate to have many excellent photographers who
are willing to share their work with us.
