Dear A+ Advantage Point Learning:
Three of the past four Fridays that I schedule for Title I-SES support have been at conferences, or out of
the building. Sorry for not keeping up with the pace that I know the rest of you are hard at work
maintaining. Here is an update on the past month’s FAQ:
Provider Communication
Q: Who do we contact to ask about progress and to resolve any issues?
A: The sole contact for SES Providers remains myself. Email, phone, or fax my contact info. Please be
specific when talking with my office manager, or leaving a message that you are an approved provider. I
set aside time each Friday for SES organization and tracking. There are many other duties within the
building and district. Unless I schedule the time, they won’t get done.
Q: Will we get a list of students who have chosen our company so far?
A: Yes. We are having to re-verify students and phone confirmations after having issues getting a
section of our SchoolMaster database to collect and store the information electronically. We only have
one district level office manager with access to create and give permissions for data and reports. As of
Fri 12-10-10 there were only 22 students in the system coming up F&R eligible, indicated yes they want
services, and who that was to be. I know there are many more than that after the Showcase and phone
contacts by the building administration. We are double checking the hard copies in the school office
against the electronic copies again.
Parent Communication
Q: Can parents sign up with a provider at this time?
A: No. The next window is from January 12th-28th.
Q: What if a parent didn’t choose, but was eligible in September?
A: Those parents who did not determine a provider after multiple contacts via direct phone, letter, note,
and provider showcase communication will receive an additional letter informing them of their
continued eligibility and their next options. They must maintain TCE as their registered school and be
F&R eligible as of Fri 1-7-11.
Q: If a parent chose a provider, when will they be contacted?
A: Parents will receive a packet of information as well as the classroom teacher (grade level as well as
SpEd if applicable) to complete prior to services beginning in order to set goal targets for the student.
These will be given to staff this week and mailed home to parents during break. The providers will also

be sent a contact list of students, phone numbers and the signup sheets turned in to the district to make
arrangements for consulting on the goal targets and the startup process the SES provider has.
Q: When will the tutoring start?
A: This varies on the provider and the completion of signing the contract with the district and submitting
verification of background checks to ensure student safety. Contracts will also be mailed at break and
need to be signed by both parties. To date, only one person has completed the required background
checks through the HR office.
Facility Use
Q: Where do we get a facilities request form?
A: The two forms are in triplicate and cannot be emailed. Blank forms can be mailed upon request.
Q: Are there fees for use of district facilities?
A: Yes. This will be determined once the request forms are received and are reviewed at our district
office. District policy has three classifications for fee assessment. Most providers will be in the third (for
profit group) while some may be in the second (non-profit group) category. There is a revised board
policy that will be effective 12-15-10 with specified and reduced rates for facility use from my previous
FAQ.
Q: Who do we contact for facility use?
A: The sole contact for SES Providers remains myself. Email, phone, or fax my contact info. Please be
specific when talking with my office manager, or leaving a message that you are an approved provider.
Q: What rooms are available for use?
A: Depending on the number of students and on-site providers chosen, we will determine which rooms
would best suit the needs of the tutoring session. At this time, two rooms are already identified and will
be scheduled first.
Q: What are the hours school is in session or the building available?
A: School is in session from 8:55 to 3:30. The building is available from 8:15-8:45am and from 3:40 to
6:00pm.
Provider Contracts, Assurances and Clearances
Q: What does your district require for background checks and security clearances?
A: These are required prior to service delivery. The procedures are under review. We have two systems
in place for staff and community volunteers that take about two weeks. You will be notified once a
determination is made which applies to your personnel.
Q: When do you expect contracts to be available?
A: The contract is in multiple parts and the primary part has been at the district counsel’s since the end
of November. The final district edits were sent Tue 12-14-10 for approval and should be received by the
end of business Wed for me to email Thu and mail Fri to providers.
