Classroom/Lab Etiquette:

1. Be respectful and courteous to others

Consequence: detention; individual evaluation

2. Raise hand when you have something to say/add

Consequence: evaluated on an individual basis

3. Inappropriate language will not be tolerated

Consequence: detention

4. No horseplay/inappropriate behavior of any kind will be tolerated

Consequence: detention (minimum); possible removal from class

5. No intentional defacing of school property

Consequence: detention (minimum); possible removal from class

6. Follow the procedures as instructed in our classroom and shop areas

Consequence: evaluated on an individual basis

7. Cell phones will not be tolerated

Consequences: as per district policy

*** Repeat violations will result in phone calls to parents. Flagrant violations of any of the above

may result in removal from class and possible loss of credit.

Grading:

Project grades will be based on the following criteria:

-Effort

-Creativity

-Quality according to professional/industry standards

-Self-improvements

Classroom grades will be based on the following criteria:

-Note-taking

-Assignments

-Classroom participation

-Student presentations/speeches

-Quizzes

-Exams

Supplies:

Most supplies are provided by the school.

Safety:

1. Always work in a safe and professional manner.

2. Be aware of your surroundings.

3. Only use tools in the manner for which they were designed.

4. Create a safe and comfortable environment for everyone in the class.

BULLYING, VERBAL ABUSE, GESTURES, OR LANGUAGE OF AN INAPPROPRIATE MANNER

WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

5. Wear proper clothing. You will get dirty in some of the classes. Students may want to bring their

own work clothes for lab days they can change into.

6. Obey all safety rules. Students will be required to pass safety tests with appropriate scores and

have a Safety Code of Conduct signed by student and parent on file with instructors.

Deadlines:

In order to accomplish all our goals for the year, there will be deadlines for each project. If you are having a

problem finishing a certain project on time, talk to me and we will see what we can do about an extension.

Planning a project can sometimes be the most time consuming part of the project. In order use time efficiently,

you will need to come up with an idea within in the time allowed. If you are not able to so, then I will be assigning

an idea to you.
