                                                                             Introduction

What is the purpose of the framework?
The self-assessment framework enables the partnership to evaluate its progress towards excellence by benchmarking against established
practice in key areas of operation and management:

                       ● Shared vision
                       ● Working arrangements
                       ● Planning and delivery
                       ● Evaluation

When should we use the framework?
Best practice suggests that the optimum time to use this tool is towards the end of the summer term, to complement the business planning
cycle. The framework can, however, be used at any time and frequency as deemed appropriate by the partnership in order to support
                       continuous improvement.

                       Who should complete the framework?
The framework is a shared document. Whilst partnerships may develop different approaches to its completion, successful partnerships
demonstrate that a collaborative approach is most effective.

                       How to use the framework
Evidence gathered via the self-assessment framework can be used by all partner schools in completing and substantiating their SEF (for
those schools that choose to continue using this to evaluate their performance) and in meeting Ofsted requirements. Partnerships will also
be well-placed to promote and facilitate effective peer review, both across the partnership and potentially between partnerships.

The following sheets consist of a number of sections allowing you to consider your current practice and where you would rate this on a scale
of 1-5. You can work your way through all of the sections in the tool by clicking on the arrows at the end of the scale and using the navigation
buttons to move backwards and forwards. You can also move onto any sheet by clicking on the appropriate tab at the bottom of that page.

Not all of the sections contained in the tool may be relevant to you at all times. You do not have to complete all of the sections - if you
choose to leave out some of the questions then you will be rated only upon the ones that you have completed.

You can save your work and continue later at any stage of the process. Once you have finished working through the tool you will be able to
save a summary report of the progress that you have recorded, so that you can use this for reference and compare your position at a later
                       date.

                                   • Have individual governing bodies from partner schools been involved in the development of the vision?

                                   • How is the vision shared with staff at all levels across all partner organisations?
