       Things to consider:
        • Close to home (local) or out of town (cost)
        • Do they offer the program I want to study
        • Determine the focus of the program. Not all
          programs are created equal.
           • U of T Psych program – behavioural focus v.s.
             York Psych – clinical focus
           • U of T B. Comm. – focus on accounting – other
             universities may focus on marketing

    Deadlines
   there is no general deadline for the
    submission of the OUAC 105 application;
   deadlines vary from institution to institution
   deadlines are often program specific
   list of deadlines is provided on most
    universities’ pages
   unless otherwise specified, the deadline
    date listed indicates the date by which the
    application must arrive at the OUAC.
    Transcripts
 a record of your academic performance
 used in determining transfer credit or
  advanced standing
 it is your responsibility to arrange for
  official transcripts to be forwarded to the
  universities to which you have applied

 $8 - For each transcript requested (i.e. for
  each institution receiving the transcript).

   Note: NO FEES are required for
    transcripts originating FROM institutions
    that have a lifetime transcript fee
    agreements – Humber included.

Supplemental/Document Evaluation Fee
    (Collected by OUAC on behalf of the universities).
   To be paid by applicants selecting
    programs at the specified universities.
   This fee is payable only once to each
    university selected, including affiliates.

excerpts from the Humber Transfer
Guide. These have been included
in order to indicate how different
universities and even different
programs within the same
university offer a different number
of transfer credits for the same
Humber program.
    GENERAL ARTS & SCIENCE
        DIPLOMA (2 yr)
   Algoma University College
    Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario
     Humber graduates with an A average
      (80%) or higher will be eligible to receive
      42 transfer credits towards a 3 or 4 year
      Bachelor of Arts.
     Graduates with a B average (70%-79%) will
      receive 24 credits and a C average (65%-
      69%) will receive 12 credits.
Algoma University College (con’t)
Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario

    Graduates with an A average (80%) or higher
     will be eligible to receive 36 transfer credits
     towards a 3 year Bachelor of Science in Liberal
     Science.
    Graduates with a B average (70%-79%) will
     receive 24 credits and a C average (65%-69%)
     will receive 12 credits
    (30 credits are equivalent to approximately one
     year - 6 credits x 5 courses).

   Humber graduates of the 4 semester
    diploma program with a minimum GPA
    of 70% will be admitted into a 4 year
    program (120 credit hours) with
    advanced standing equivalent to 60
    credit hours.

   Graduates with a minimum cumulative
    average of 70% will be considered for
    admission and MAY be awarded up to
    3 transfer credits.

Ottawa, Ontario
   Graduates with a GPA of 3.0 (70%) or better
    and the prerequisite courses will be
    considered for admission and, depending
    on the appropriateness and the admission
    requirements of the chosen program, MAY
    receive advanced standing to a maximum of
    5 credits (equivalent to one year).
   OAC, Grade 12 U/M or equivalent
    prerequisites are required for admission to
    programs with math and science
    prerequisites.

    Buffalo, New York, USA
   Humber graduates of the 4 semester
    diploma in the University Transfer Profile
    with a minimum GPA of 70% will be
    admitted to a 4 year program (120 credits)
    with 60 transfer credits.

     Humber graduates will be granted advanced
      standing up to a maximum of 2 semesters of
      a relevant undergraduate degree thus
      allowing completion of a 3 year degree in 4
      semesters.

      degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management.

   University of Guelph
    Guelph, Ontario
       Humber graduates with a GPA of 3.0 (B+ or 75%) or
        better who have OAC/Grade 12 U/M or equivalent
        Mathematics and English will be admitted to the
        Hotel and Food Administration major of the
        Bachelor of Commerce program with 6 transfer
        credits (2.5 credits are equivalent to one
        semester).
       Up to 5 places will be made available annually.
       Interested students should contact the Bachelor of
        Commerce counsellor.
