Do’s and Don’ts
Some Do’s
• Research – website, annual reports,
alumni, newspapers, analysts, etc.
• Questions – interview them!
• Express 3 unique things about yourself,
that differentiate your from others
• Be personable! They are trying to
decide if they would like to work with
you.
Some More Do’s
• Be assertive (not aggressive)
• Express your leadership experiences,
like club officer, or supervisory jobs, etc
• Express your willingness to do more
than is required, like volunteer work
• Dress and groom yourself well
• Express your interest in the job!
Some Don’ts
• Ask when your first promotion or pay
raise will be
• Be quiet or shy
• Have no questions to ask them
• Ask mundane questions such as about
the weather, sports, how’s it going,
• Show up late
• Bad mouth prior bosses/teachers, etc.
