How to configure an IOS device to use
ActiveSync with Exchange

Scope: This document will describe how to configure an iPhone, iPod, or iPad to work with the ODU
Exchange server environment. For best results make sure you have installed the latest IOS updates to
your device.
1. On the IOS device tap on “Settings”, then “Mail, Contacts, Calendars”, then “Add Account”, then
tap the Microsoft Exchange button.
2. Enter in your email address, the domain (odunet), your username, and your password. Clicking
on the return button will take you down through each option, and then click next. The
description field is optional.
3. The device will then try to automatically look up the server settings and connect to your account
using your username & password
4. The device should be able to automatically look up the server, and you should just be able to
click next.
5. On the next screen you can decide which features to sync with your device. You can toggle
them by tapping on the on/off switch. Then click save to save your settings. It may take a few
minutes to sync all of your mail, contacts, & calendar events the first time.
