General areas: Translational Neuroscience

A postdoctoral position is available at the Basal Ganglia Pathophysiology Unit,
Lund University (director: prof. M. Angela Cenci) to investigate the
mechanisms of neurovascular coupling in rodent models of Parkinson´s
Disease (PD) and L-DOPA-induced dyskinesia. The project builds on previous
observations of abnormal microvascular responses in the PD brain both in
animal models and in human patients (see e.g. Ohlin et al. Brain (2011) 134:
2339-2357, and references therein). The project will be multidisciplinary in
nature and will involve periods of study at the MicroPET facilities of the
Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, Long Island, NY (director: Prof. David
Eidelberg).

Funding is available for an initial period of 2 years, starting any time during the
Spring of 2012.

Professional requirements: (i) PhD degree in natural, biomedical, or
engineering sciences, or MD degree, acquired within the past 2-3 years. (ii)
Proficiency in written and spoken English. (iii) Documented experience in
experimental studies of regional cerebral blood flow, and/or functional imaging
techniques, will be regarded as a valuable qualification.
