Stress and Change Brochure Assignment
One way that people learn about places, people, or things that they do not know is by
reading about them. But what if they don't have time to read a whole book or they just
want a quick overview of the subject? The Health Department often uses brochures to
inform, educate, or encourage — quickly. They use a brochure to grab the readers’
attention and get them interested enough to want to know more.
Your brochure will provide facts, suggestions and pictures/graphics about STRESS.
Create a brochure about a Ways of Coping with Stress. Choose 10 positive and 10
negative coping strategies and design a brochure which includes some causes of
stress, the coping strategies and pictures/graphics to represent them.
1. First, write down 10 positive and 10 negative coping strategies (you should have
a list in your binder).
2. Think of some pictures/graphics representations for each strategy.
3. Sketch out some rough ideas of how you want your brochure to look — including
any graphics you think you want to include. Try out different formats to fit your
text. Edit your text to fit your layout. Make at least one rough copy!
4. Print or draw your final design and fold as necessary.
The attached rubric will be used to evaluate your brochure to see how well you have
presented your information. Not everyone will agree on the effectiveness of a single
brochure but if you have done your job well, most readers will agree that your brochure
gives them the information they want and need and is easy to follow.
