IDM Performance Goal
•   To provide a database for all HMS data,
    so that the data may be queried and
    retrieved efficiently.
IDM Data Transfer Goal

•   To store data in a manner so that it is
    readily transferable from geodatabase to
    HMS files, and visa versa.

Conclusions

 •   The HMS Inteface Data Model facilitates the
     incorporation of HEC-HMS into a hydrologic
     information system.

 •   The HMS Interface Data Model is useful for the
     archiving, management, editing, and spatial
     analysis of data varying in space and time.
Future Work

 • Incorporation of IDM into next version of HEC-
   GeoHMS
 • Development of improved techniques for
   transferring data between the IDM and HMS files.
 • Further exploration of how DSS time series can be
   viewed within the ArcGIS environment.
 • Development of a system for running HEC-HMS
   simulations from within the ArcMap environment.
 • Modification of HEC-HMS routines, so that they
   run directly on the IDM
