ARTICLE I
NAME & PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION
SECTION ONE
A) The name of the organization shall be Tarleton Bass Club;
hereinafter referred to as the TBC.
B) This organization will be an affiliated member of the Collegiate Bass
Anglers Association (CBAA), Association of Collegiate Anglers (ACA),
FLW, and College Bass.
SECTION TWO
The purpose of this organization is:
A) To unite men and women through the common bond of fishing.
B) To educate anglers and develop angling skills (emphasis on bass fishing).
C) To strengthen student camaraderie/institutional esprit-de-corps.
D) Promote sportsmanship through athletic competition and fellowship.
E) Encourage good stewardship of our natural resources.
F) To develop and train student athletes for participation in tournament angling.
ARTICLE II
MEMBERSHIP & CLUB PARAMETERS
SECTION ONE
Membership in the TBC is open to any Tarleton State University student enrolled full
time.
A) Student members must have a minimum 2.0 GPA, be in good disciplinary
standing.
B) TBC collegiate team members must meet academic eligibly standards consistent to
those of the CBAA, ACA, FLW and College Bass. Faculty, staff and alumni can
join as honorary members, but do not have voting privileges and cannot hold
office, other than advisor.

SECTION TWO
A) Members will be expected, but not required, to attend/participate in all TBC
events. Including, but not limited to: tournaments, meetings, fundraisers, and
philanthropy events.
B) Teams will receive one pound (1) for every sanctioned TBC event if at least one
team member is present.
C) Exceptions to rule B should be decided by the executive board (all officers) and
within 1 tournament meeting of absence.
ARTICLE III
TBC COLLEGIATE TOURNAMENTS TEAM (Club Sport)
A) TBC will send teams that will represent the college/university at local,
state, and national tournaments.
B) Student athletes will comprise club teams to represent the college/university at
regional and national tournaments.
C) Choice of championship births will be granted by overall point standings at end of year in
descending weight order.
D) Student athletes must be in good academic and disciplinary standing with TBC and consistent
with Tarleton State University student athlete standards.
E) In order to be eligible for FLW events, teams must fish 2 of the first three tournaments of the
fall semester.
F) Locations and dates for tournaments for the next year will be decided at the last club meeting of the year.
G) Weigh-in location and tournament hours will be decided during the meeting before the tournament.
H) Future tournament information, including locations, dates, and times may be changed at any meeting.
I) Tournaments may be postponed or called by the Tournament Director due to extreme inclement weather. Ex.
tornados, lightning, large hail, etc. Every effort will be made to let teams know if this happens, but it is ultimately
the team’s responsibility to find out.
ARTICLE IV
TBC OFFICERS
SECTION ONE
The business management and affairs of the club will be under the direction and control of the
TBC advisor, and its officers, also known as the executive board.

A) Officers of the TBC shall be: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Tournament Director.
B) Officers will be elected at the last spring meeting and take effect at the first meeting in the fall unless the
existing officer is graduating, transferring, or otherwise will not be attending classes at TSU the
following fall semester. In this case, the newly elected officer will take effect immediately.
C) Election quorum will be by majority vote of members present at the meeting
D) Term of office for all TBC officers shall be for a period of one (1) year. Officers may be elected for
consecutive terms for the same position.
E) TBC members in good standing are eligible to hold office after 6 club tournaments of active membership.
F) Officers may be removed from office by a two-thirds vote.
SECTION TWO
Responsibilities of TBC Officers:
A) President shall:
a. Preside over all TBC meetings unless a presiding officer is appointed.
b. Direct all official business actions to the TBC advisor for appropriate
action.
c. Appoints TBC committee chairpersons, and assists all special committees
as needed.
d. Supervises TBC committees.
e. Schedule regular meetings and call special meetings as needed.
f. Assure adequate supervision of all TBC sponsored events.
g. Acquire knowledge of parliamentary procedures for purposes of
running efficient meetings.
h. Distributes club related information to the membership in a professional
and timely manner.
i. Actively pursue the development and enhancement of the TBC by
seeking opportunities for fellowship, community involvement, and sponsorship.
B) Vice President shall:
a. Perform all duties assigned to him by the President and train for the club presidency.
b. Preside over meetings in the absence of the president.
c. In the event that the president's office becomes vacant, shall
assume the president's responsibilities until a special election can be held.
d. Assist the Tournament Director when needed and serve in his place when TD is absent.
e. Vice president will spearhead fundraising efforts for the TBC.
f. Vice President will be in charge of seeing that FaceBook updates and the TBC website are up to
date.
C) Secretary shall:
a. Keep and maintain a record of meeting minutes (Members may receive a copy
upon request).
b. Maintain current contact information (mailing address, telephone numbers, and
e-mail address) of all TBC members and officers. Provide sponsors and
tournament trails with current TBC membership list and officer contact
information.
c. Maintain the record of attendance for all meetings and events. (A

sign-in attendance sheet will be used at all meetings and events, and
will become a part of the minutes). Inform the president when a
member violates club requirements.
d. Maintain correspondence to third parties as directed by TBC officers and TBC advisor.
D) Treasurer shall:
a. Responsible for all monetary business of the TBC and will be
responsible of maintaining full and accurate books at all times.
b. Render a statement of the condition of TBC finances at each regular
meeting.
d. Collect for financial obligations (dues, fines, entry fees, club sponsorship, etc...) owed to
the TBC by members and any outside party.
e. Perform all duties incident to the office.
E) Tournament Director shall:
a. Be in charge of all TBC sanctioned tournaments.
b. Keep records of attendance, weights, and overall points of
members at TBC tournaments in conjunction with the TBC
secretary.
c. Collect all entry fees and distribute winnings accordingly in
conjunction with the TBC treasurer.
d. Have final say in all TBC tournament rulings. Including, but not
limited to: official time, rule violations, disqualifications, and
weight.
e. May consult the TBC advisor, president, and vice president when
matters discussed do not pertain to them. When others are
consulted, the TD is not subject to their opinion or ruling.
ARTICLE V
TBC ADVISOR
SECTION ONE
A) The primary advisor will be a member of the Tarleton State University staff or
faculty.
B) Secondary advisor could be an appropriate volunteer who is knowledgeable in
athletic administration, bass angling, and conservation.
C) The advisor's responsibility shall be to encourage and to provide direction
within the organization as needed and to attend all meetings.
D) The advisor will not be a voting member of the organization.
ARTICLE VI
TBC MEETINGS

SECTION ONE
A) Regular scheduled meetings will be held at an agreed upon date and
time, by a majority vote of the club members.
B) A pre-tournament meeting will take place during the week before the TBC
tournament.
C) The first meeting of the year will take place Wednesday of the second week of school.
D) Parliamentary Procedure must be followed at all meetings.
E) Special meeting may be called at any time by the president throughout the year.

ARTICLE VII
TBC SPECIAL APPOINTMENTS
SECTION ONE
A) It may be necessary for TBC officers or advisors to appoint TBC
members to serve as event coordinators/TBC committee members on
an individual basis. These appointments will come from volunteers with
expertise, experience, or interest in associated areas.
ARTICLE VIII
TBC FINANCES
SECTION ONE
A) All TBC finances are to be handled by the Treasurer.
B) Operation expenses are to be obtained by applying for college
funding, sponsoring fund-raising activities, and through contributions.
C) Expense reimbursement requests shall be submitted to the Treasurer
for reimbursement. All expense receipts and appropriate
documentation (bills, invoices, and receipts) shall be submitted for
reimbursement.
D) All incoming funds are to be deposited within four (4) business days
of receiving them.
ARTICLE IX
EXPULSIONS
SECTION ONE

A) Any collegiate member may be expelled from the TBC.
B) Expulsion proceedings will be a two meeting process.
C) The first meeting will require a majority vote to begin the expulsion
process.
D) The second meeting will require a two-thirds vote to expel the
delinquent member.
SECTION TWO
A) The expelled member may be reinstated with a four-fifths vote.
B) The expelled member may appeal no sooner than the fall semester
following the expulsion.
ARTICLE X
AMENDING & ISSUING OF THE CONSTITUTION
SECTION ONE
A) If an amendment is desired by any member in good standing with the
TBC, it shall be submitted to one of the club officers during a meeting. The
recommendation will be discussed and then be voted upon at that meeting.
B) In order for an amendment to pass, it will require a two-thirds vote of
members present at the meeting.
