Minutes of Meeting – July 6, 2010
Reorganization Meeting – Meeting called to order by Ed MacDonald at 6:00 pm.
Mr. Bishop nominated Mr. Pease for Chairman. Seconded by Mr. Pease. Vote – 2 yes;
Abstention. Mr. Pease nominated Mr. Bishop for Vice Chairman. Seconded by Mr.
Bishop. Vote – 2 yes; 1 abstention. Mr. Pease nominated Mr. Stroganow for Clerk.
Seconded by Mr. Bishop. Vote – 2 yes; 1 abstention.
Mr. Pease called the regular meeting to order at 6:10 pm.
Members Present: R. Duane Pease, Chairman; Gene Bishop, Vice-Chairman;
P. Stroganow, Clerk; Ed MacDonald, Town Administrator
Others Present: Mary Ann Pease, Michael Crochiere, Marie Morrissey,
Mindy Sullivan, Michele Klemaszeski, Rene Senecal,
Warrants and minutes were signed.
Michele Klemaszeski reported from the Wired West meeting. She expressed concerns
about the cost to the town. There are no scheduled meetings in the future.
Mr. Pease made a motion to appoint Mr. Crochiere delegate to Wired West. Seconded by
Mr. Bishop. Unanimous vote. Mr. Pease made a motion to appoint Michele Klemaszeski
as the alternate. Mr. Bishop seconded the motion. Unanimous vote.
Mindy Sullivan who is interested in the Wild Cat Springs property had several questions
for the board. She would like to convert it back into a restaurant – do some cosmetic
work, not structural. The board advised her to contact the Building Inspector as to what
needs to be done to bring the facility up to code. She questioned if the parcel needs to be
rezoned. Mr. Pease said that he would look into it by checking with the Zoning Board
and the Building Inspector.
Wired West will be having a kick-off meeting on Saturday from 9 till 11. Mr. Pease
made a motion to appoint Michele Klemaszeski as the town’s delegate for Saturday.
Seconded by Mr. Bishop. 2 –ayes, one abstained (Mr. Crochiere)
Highway Department Report – The highway department will be cleaning the reservoir.
They need to check with Bernie when the engineers will be taking the water tests.
Johnson Hill Road – metal culverts need to be replaced; however, Rene is looking into
the cost factor for renting a roller. Maynard Hill Road – pothole work is being done; they
are working on the “S” turns.
Mr. Pease would like to receive monthly reports from the accountant or treasurer in
regards to monthly budget reports.
Mr. Pease made a motion that any department that needed to contact the Town’s attorney
should first check with the Board of Selectmen. Seconded by Mr. Stroganow.
Unanimous vote. Mr. Pease said the Mr. MacDonald should not have his hands tied
when it comes to contacting Town Counsel, since it is a part of his daily job.
Ms. Edinger requested a copy of certified minutes from the Town Meeting so that they
can pay bills.

Scholarships – they will be readvertised in the paper. Only three applicants. Extend the
Mr. Pease made a motion to set a Special Town Meeting on August 2 at 7:00 pm in order
to address the borrowing for the Water Treatment Plant. Seconded by Mr. Bishop.
Mr. Pease spoke about the water plant and if there was another way to do the repairs on it
without incurring such a high cost. He suggested that perhaps wells could be drilled to
augment the water supply.
Ms. Lamountian addressed the board regarding brown water and the damage being done
to her clothes. Mr. Pease informed her that they are taking steps to correct the situation.
She suggested that some sort of notification be sent when the water is brown – perhaps at
the Fire Station.
She also raised a concern about the speed limit on Main Street. Mr. Pease said that he
would notify the Police Chief.
Linda Lagasse spoke about the problems on Crane Road and Lyons Hill Road with cars
speeding and running other cars off the road. It is becoming more and more dangerous
and something needs to be done before someone is seriously hurt. Mr. Jeff Shedd
reiterated what Ms. Lagasse concerns are. He said that it is very dangerous and that he is
thinking about putting up a gate on his property. Mr. Pease said that he would inform the
Police Chief about the situation.
Mr. Pease made a motion to adjourn at 7:30 pm. Seconded by Mr. Bishop. Unanimous
