                                                PROSPECTUS
                                          New Mexico Veteran’s Art Show

The New Mexico Veteran’s Art Show is organized and staffed by veterans who volunteer to recognize and promote the
artistic talent of fellow veterans and active-duty artists. The motto of NMVA is “Veterans Honoring Veterans”.

                                                        ELIGIBILITY

All veterans and active-duty/active reserve forces personnel are eligible to submit entries to participate in the art show.
Any questions regarding military status will be resolved through evaluation of the applicant’s DD Form 214.

                                                          JURYING

Each entrant will be juried into the show based on the quality of the work submitted. Only work submitted on the date
specified in the “DATES” section of this prospectus will be evaluated.

                                             ENTRY PROCEDURE AND FEES

Entry Procedure:

ALL ENTRIES must have been completed within two years of show date and all entries must be available for sale. Artist
agrees to donate to NMVA 25% of the gross amount of any sales made during the show. All entries must be created by the
entrant. No reproductions, copies, kits or manufactured items will be accepted.

Applicants may enter no more than three (3) pieces per category. Applicants may enter more than one category but a
separate application form must be completed for each category entered. Additional copies of the “Application for Entry”
may be reproduced as needed.

NMVA reserves the right to determine the acceptability and the category of each entry. NO entry will be accepted which
can be construed as being offensive to any racial, religious or gender group. This limitation should not to be construed as
censorship but rather as respect for all entrants and patrons participating in the show.

All entries must be ready for display at the time of delivery. Hanging art must be ready to hang with the apex of the wire
no more than 2" from top of frame. Pedestals and display cases will be available but an applicant may provide his or her
own pedestal or case provided it is compatible with the overall display standards of the show.

Entry Fees:

All entrants are requested to become members of NMVA. Membership dues are $25.00 annually and may be paid at time
of entry; the membership year runs from November to October.

An entry fee of $10.00 per piece or $25.00 for 3 pieces must be paid to at the time of submission along with a properly
completed “Application for Entry”.

Hand Delivered Entries:

Individuals planning to hand-deliver entries should complete the “Application for Entry” form (attached) and deliver the
application form along with entries and appropriate fees to the show site on the date specified in the “DATES” section of
this prospectus.
Shipped Entries:

An eligible entrant who cannot personally deliver/pick-up his or her entries may ship entries to the Entry Committee. SHIP

All items received must include an appropriate entry form and all necessary fees. Fees must be in the form of a check or
money order. Cash will not be accepted. Shipped entries must arrive not later than October 15, 2009. Any entry that fails
to meet these requirements will not be accepted for display.

The Entry Committee recommends that all shipped entries be professionally packed and shipped and appropriately insured.
A pre-paid return shipping label MUST BE INCLUDED! New Mexico Veteran’s Art and its representatives accept no
responsibility for damages caused during shipping and handling of shipped entries.

All entries received must be completely assembled and ready for display. Wall art must be properly wired and ready to
hang. Framed artwork must utilize an acrylic (Plexiglas) covering. For safety/liability reasons DO NOT SHIP a framed
item which utilizes a glass covering.

The Entry Committee will receive, unpack, inspect for damage during shipment, and repack entries at the end of show
utilizing original shipping materials. Entries will be shipped within two weeks following the completion date of the show.

                                          LIABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Liabilities:

NMVA volunteers will make every honest effort to protect all artwork during the show. NMVA and its volunteers cannot
be held liable for any damage or loss which may occur.

Sales taxes will be collected for all artwork sold during the show. These funds will be transferred to the entrant who shall
be responsible for submitting collected taxes to the appropriate department of the State of New Mexico.

Responsibilities:

EACH ENTRANT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DELIVERY/PICK-UP OF ALL ENTRIES SUBMITTED. NMVA shall
not be responsible for any entries not picked-up before the stated time on the designated pick-up date.

                                                     SILENT AUCTION

During the New Mexico Veteran’s Art Show, NMVA group conducts a Silent Auction. This is the primary fund-raiser for
the group and all entrants are encouraged to donate an item for the auction. Donations will be displayed during the entire
show period and all visitors are invited to submit bids to purchase the donated items. A ‘minimum bid’ is established for
each donation and any item which does not receive the minimum bid will be returned to the artist. All funds received
through the auction are used in support of official NMVA activities. The value of the items sold is tax deductible for the
donating artist. NMVA will provide a record of the donation to support an individual’s personal tax deduction. Individuals
wishing to donate an item should complete the “Silent Auction Donation Form” which is attached to this prospectus.

                                                         AWARDS

Cash Awards:
Three awards shall be presented which include a cash award. These awards are: (1) People’s Choice Award, (2) Patriots’
Award and (3) Jack Elkins Memorial Award.

          Patriots Award: This is a special ribbon which is presented to the show entry which best depicts a patriotic theme.
          People’s Choice Award: This award shall be selected by a majority of all voting visitors viewing the show.
         Jack Elkins Memorial Award: This award is sponsored by the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) New Mexico
         Color Guard in honor of one of its past members.

Merit Awards:
Merit awards are presented in the name of various organizations or corporations sponsoring the award. Merit Awards may
carry a cash award.

Ribbons:
First, second and third place ribbons will be awarded in each category for which there are qualified entries.

                                                 SHOW CATEGORIES

MANUFACTURED ITEMS WILL BE ACCEPTED!

01 PAINTING: Two dimensional works in oil, acrylic or enamel.

02 WATERCOLOR: Two dimensional works in water based pigment.

03 PRINTS: “Hand” printed art created by etching or carving the surface of wood, metal, vinyl, plastic, stone or screen.

04 INK: Liquid ink pigment applied by pen or brush on any surface.

05 DRAWING: Pencil, charcoal, chalk, pastels, crayon or grease stick on any surface.

06 PHOTOGRAPHY: Any image initially captured through the use of a camera and presenting the appearance of a
traditional photograph.

07 SCULPTURE: Three dimensional works in metal, stone, wood, or other medium. No sculpture larger than 6 feet high
by 6 feet wide or weighting more than 300 pounds may be entered.

08 MIXED-MEDIA: Any combination of two or more media.

09 FIBER: Original wearable or decorative works created on/with fiber.

10 LEATHER: Any works created on or with leather.

11 CERAMICS: Functional or decorative clay or porcelain pottery.

12 JEWELRY: Original work designed and created by the artist.

13 DIGITAL ART: Any image whose creation required the use of computer-based tools to alter or create the image.

14 WOODWORK: Any work created in wood including furniture and carving which does not fall into the sculpture
category.

15 OTHER: Any entry not covered by another category.
