Purpose (Why)
To ensure external stakeholders have an awareness and understanding of the new standards.


Rollout Plan Details (What)
        Standards Awareness
        Standards 101 Presentation( Includes information applicable to all content areas, as
           well as some content specific examples, an activity and Q & A)
        ODE creates the power point presentation and support information for the
           meetings.
        Regional representatives deliver the presentations and information to the field.
        Sessions: 1-1.5 hours
        Number of people per session: 50-100; Each region should host up to four sessions

      Points to Address:
       Reason for adopting new standards.
       Implementation date of new standards. Status of current standards.
       New standards relationship to assessment
       Organizational structure of the new standards
       Commonalities across content areas(focus, coherence)


Where: The ESCs within the 16 regions throughout the state

When: Late October - early December 2010

Audience
      K-12 Teachers
      Building and District Administrators, School Board members
      Higher Education
      Parents, Family, Business and Community
      Content – affiliated organizations

       Webcasts/Webinars
       LEA Implementation Plan and Tools ( e.g., Standards Crosswalk)

      Points to Address:
       Reason for adopting new standards.
       Organizational structure of the new standards
       Comparison between existing and new standards (benchmark level)- Fall 2010
       New standards relationship to assessment
       Implementation date of new standards. Status of current standards.
       Model Curriculum – Purpose, Structure and Components
       Commonalities across content areas(focus, coherence)
       Understand their role in the transition over the next three –four years
