What is Acupressure?

Acupressure is an ancient healing art using the fingers to gradually work key points on

the body, which stimulate the body’s natural self-healing abilities. Acupressure was

developed in Asia over 5,000 years ago. An Acupressure practitioner uses their own Chi,

life-force energy, and sensitivity of their fingers, accessing the same pressure points, and

meridians, as an Acupuncture practitioner but without needles.

Animal Acupressure practitioners use several Traditional Chinese Medicine assessment

methods, such as Association Point Assessment, and the “Four Examination” to

determine which acupressure points to work. When the acupressure points are worked

they promote circulation of blood, and enhance the body’s life-force energy to aid in

healing. Animal Acupressure treatments, as with humans, have many benefits:

 Boosts the immune system

 Release emotional blockages

 Strengthen muscles, tendons, joints, and bones

Relieves muscle spasms

 Replenish the animal’s physical and emotional energy

 Release endorphins necessary to increase energy or relieve pain

 Balance energy to optimize the body's natural ability to heal

 Release natural cortisone to reduce swelling and inflammation

 Enhance mental clarity and calmness required for focus in

training and performance

 Resolve injuries more readily by increasing the blood supply

and removing toxins
