It’s that time of the year again, when we seek feedback from our parent community on many aspects of the school’s operations and directions. This is
a really important way for myself and the Board of Trustees to measure how we are going and strategically plan for the future. Please take the time to

  Room26 is looking for recycled and donated materials. If you could bring some materials like: googly eyes,
  beads, buttons, felt and wool. We are all trying to make a difference and fundraise to support the people in
  the earthquake. Have some empathy and support us to support the earthquake victims build their homes again.

             GALA NEWSLETTER 4 ‐ 2 WEEKS TO GO 
The Community Committee team is working hard to ensure this day is bigger and better than ever and with only 2 weeks 
to go we are racing to get everything organized. Thanks for all your support to date. Fingers crossed for great weather!  
Please take a few minutes to READ this newsletter and find out more about the Gala. 
Many of you will have been to a Red Beach Gala before, but if you haven’t you can expect a fun day.  We will have a large  
selection of food at our Food Fiesta so plan on staying for lunch!    Thanks to Darren Henare and Gary Bishop for  putting 
up our big bright Gala signs up around town.   

1. More Help: We desperately need more helpers across all areas.  Show your support for Red Beach School and get behind 
this gala by helping out on the day and/or in the lead up to the Gala.  You won’t be tied up all day – just a couple of hours and 
so you can enjoy the Gala too.   Contact your child’s teacher today. 
2. Quickfire Donation Day – This Thursday Nov 4th – Lucky Dip or Novelty Item 
3. Cake Boxes coming home early next week – please fill 1 or 2 with lovely baked goods for us to sell. 
4. Gala Flyer: Look out for the colourful Gala flyer coming home this week! Thanks to PrintStop@Backbone Marketing for  
designing and printing these for us. Help us get the word out…we have sent home some extra copies for you to deliver to 
your neighbours. 
5. White Elephant Goods, can be dropped to the school blue shipping container from today onwards ‐ A reminder of the  
conditions for White elephant donations:  Clothing ‐ children's clothes only, NO shoes.  Books ‐  NO encyclopedia or  
magazines, Furniture ‐ NO mattresses, Electrical – NO printers/faxes/telephones, Toys – complete sets only please

silent auctions closing throughout the day and mystery bags ‐  the best $30 you could spend.  All bags are valued over $75 and

Fantastic Face Painter – Kids (and adults too!) get your face painted by a real pro.   Body artist and face painter Carmel  
McCormick in will be in attendance.  Carmel is internationally renowned and took out the Supreme Award for her entry in the 
2008 NZ Body Art Awards.  Remember the naked painted people in the recent Air New Zealand TV adverts? That was Carmel’s 
Food Fiesta – a large variety of top quality food, from spit roast pork to curries.  Check out the full menu in next weeks  
newsletter. Xmas Hams – available to order (tasting available at Gala) .  Those that ordered last year said they were top quality 
and better value than supermarket hams.
