     • Counseling courses for transfer credit must be taken through a CACREP-accredited program.

     • Generally, course work taken prior to admission to the Counselor Certification Program should not be more than
       6 years old.

     • Students must select at least one practicum/internship field site placement in a school setting. If counseling skills are
       marginal, students may be required to complete additional practica, internships, and/or techniques. Students should
       select electives that will enhance their major emphasis in counseling with school-age clients.

     • Transfer credit can be approved only by the Counselor Education Faculty Advisor.

A GRADE OF "C" OR HIGHER MUST BE ACHIEVED IN ALL COURSES ON THE
CERTIFICATION PLAN, AS WELL AS A 2.5 CONTENT AREA AND 2.5 OVERALL GPA TO BE
ADMITTED TO THE TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAM.
REQUIRED COURSES FOR LICENSURE--48 total hours--Apply online to the Texas Tech Graduate School at
www.depts.ttu.edu/gradschool/admissions/How.php for either a Masters or CERT classification. If you already have
a Master's Degree, apply as a CERTIFICATION ONLY student. You also must apply to the Teacher Education
Program at https://educfmk.educ.ttu.edu/SSL/pbapp. See a Certification Advisor at the College of Education to
complete the admission process and to receive a certification plan. See the certification website

                Prerequisites: Admission to Graduate School, admission to the Counseling Program, and completion
                of EPCE 5353 or 5358, 5352 or 5366, 5354, 5357, 5364, 5367, 5370, 5371, and EPSY 5356.
    2.          EPCE 5094--Internship in Counseling--3 hours
                Prerequisites: Admission to Counselor Education Program and EPCE 5360
    3.          EPCE 5094--Internship in Counseling--3 hours
                Prerequisites: Admission to Counselor Education Program and EPCE 5360

V. Research (3 hours)

VI. Counseling Support Courses (3 hours)
    Choose from several classes including, but not limited to, the following:
                EPCE 5353--Introduction to Community Counseling
                EPCE 5366--Dysfunctional Behavior
                Prerequisite: EPCE 5364 and 5353 or 5358 or consent of instructor
                EPCE 5369--Seminar in Counseling
                Prerequisite: Departmental approval required.
                EPCE 5372--Addictions: An Overview for School and Community Counselors
                EPSY 5380--Introduction to Educational Statistics
