					Listening Section
In this section of the test, you will have the chance to show how well you understand spoken English.
There are four parts of the section, with special direction for each part.
Part 1. Pictures
Question 1 -3.
Directions:
For each item, there is a picture in your test book and four short statements about it on the tape. They
are spoken two times, and are not written out on your test book, so you must listen carefully. You must
choose one statements – (A), (B), (C), or (D) - that best describes the picture. Then, on your answer
sheet mark your choice.
Example:
Look at the picture and listen to the four sentences

Narrator: Choice B – “The ladies playing cards” – best describe what is seen in the picture. Therefore,

To be as productive as possible at the job, we need skills in human relations or the art of getting along
with others and working cooperatively.
At the job we will meet people of many different age, ethnic groups, social background, abilities and
interest. They include our supervisor and our peers, people at the jobs at the same level. We may also
meet our customers, people who sell supplies to our employer, guests, or member of the general public.
Many of them may seem very different from us. Our success at the job depends on our ability to get
along with many kinds of people. There are some guidelines dealing with guests relation:
    1. Great every guests or costumers with a smile
    2. Remember guests’ or customers’ names, titles, and company name,
    3. Treat them as welcome guests and offer them comfortable chairs/seats.
    4. Do not make guests wait for our attention until we finish a task.

PART IV : SHORT TALK

Mike Billings, of Madison, Wisconsin, does “comfort-first” designing. Recently he designed a
detachable computer keyboard. A special transmitter built into the keyboard transmits the typed
characters to the computer. With other computers, the keyboard is attached, and operators have to sit at
a desk, bent over, and often suffer from backaches and eyestrain. But this is not Mike’s first such
design. All of Billings’ designs begin with the premise that people come first, machines second. Hence,
the name, Comfort-First Design.
