Rubric
• Rubric: A scoring scale used to assess
student performance along a task-specific
set of criteria.
• It can be task specific, or generic.
• It can be a formal table, or it can be written
as a list.
• It is usually shared with students before
they begin work on a task, so they can use
it as a guide for their work.
A rubric is comprised of three
components:
criteria,
levels of performance,
and descriptors.
Criteria- characteristics of good
performance on a task.
• (What are we looking at as we grade the
product.)
