Title: How to Be a Successful Criminal: The Real Deal on Crime, Drugs, and
Easy Money
Summary:
How to be a Successful Criminal is a story about a man on a mission to
destroy his life. Mr. Glodoski begins when he is about 10. He was a drug dealer making
some good drug money when his friends started stealing cars. Around 14, he started to
steal cars and often got in trouble with the police. At one point, he was in jail every
weekend. In his late 20's, he started getting bored with dealing and stealing and became
deeply involved with crime. Then finally, he got arrested and convicted for drugs and
stealing cars and severed time in jail. Then he decided to stop every thing and start
cleaning up. In the end, he became a guest speaker at schools, telling kids to avoid drugs
and to avoid leading a life like his. My favorite part is in the beginning when he says,
“Most criminals suck at crime,” and then goes in to saying he was the “Biggest and badest
dude” in his time.
Review:
I enjoyed this book very much. I recommend it to anyone willing to
learn what it is like being a criminal so you do not make the same mistakes as Ron did.
This book has taught me that I have a good life, and I do not want to be a criminal.

Title: How to Be a Successful Criminal: The Real Deal on Crime, Drugs, and
Easy Money
Summary:
Ron tells stories of his life when he was around the age of twelve and began stealing cars
just because it gave him something to do. Then he lists off most things that he has done in
his life and lists everything from stealing cars to becoming one of the biggest drug lords
the city of Milwaukee has ever seen. He tells what he has done to get the readers to relate
to him. He shows that if he can get out of the bad situation he was in, you can get out of
the situation you are in. The second half of the book is about how Ron changed his life
and took control of his future. He got away from selling drugs, and then stopped using
them, and during this, he risked his life getting out of a gang, which he pretty much
founded. He then explains how he got away, and how you can get away from your
situation to begin a successful, legitimate life. Ron shows that his situation was probably
worse than anything most people are in, and then he shows that it is possible to overcome
any obstacle in your path to success.
Review:
I liked this book because it tells kids that no matter what, they can be who and what they
want to be. I think this should be a mandatory book in school, and I think most kids
would learn more from this book than any other required book in school today. My
favorite part of the book was, when Ron described his teenage years by saying, “most kids
went to the mall on the weekends, or out to the movies me and my friends went to jail.”
