FirstClass Conferences: The Basics
To create a FirstClass conference, go to Faculty Resources
located on your FirstClass desktop, then click on the “NEW” Course
Conference Creation Tool and follow the onscreen directions.
Once you've created the conference, you will have the icon placed
directly onto your FC desktop.
The conference comes
pre-populated with
eight content areas.
These areas are very
flexible, and
can be renamed,
deleted, or added to as
desired.
To add your own areas to your conference, you can click File-New,
and choose the tool
needed.
Modifying your conference:
To rename a content area, right-click (or Control-click on a Mac) on
the subconference you want to rename, click Properties, type in your
new desired Name, and click OK.
To delete an area entirely, right-click, click Properties, unclick
Protected, click OK, then right click again, and select Delete.
To move icons from their original positions, right click, click
Properties, unclick Icon Position Locked, click OK, then drag the
conference around to the desired position
Making your conference look like the older course conferences:
To get this, click View-
Split- Split
Horizontal. Now you
will have a discussion
area as soon as you
enter the conference.
The top area can be
resized as desired.
